Other than local junk yards, does anyone know an outlet for tires. I need a spare for a 1962, Series 62. Would that wheel be standard for GM of that era? Thanks.
Most of the time, we used to throw 235/75's on there. In the late 80's, you used to be able to get bias ply tires for about $35 each, they had the right look and everything, now you gotta go through Coker and pay like $250 each.
To get one with a tire that will be close, look for a spare from a 2wd GM pickup with 5 bolt pattern.
Wheels that also fit:
91-96 B and D bodies (Caprice, Impala SS, Roadmaster, Fleetwood, Custom Cruiser)
71-76 B and D (any full size GM)
77-90 B body wagon (Caprice, Custom Cruiser, etc...)
55 (?)-96 Cadillac RWD
70s FORD full size
GM Astro and Safari vans (5 bolt pattern only!)
2wd Blazer (FULL SIZE)(5 bolt pattern only!)
Sorry about that. Many wheels will fit in a pinch but you really want an early 60's Caddy rim for the proper offset. That generation has deep dish rims, the hubcap won't fit regular rims which may be ok for you if it's just a spare.
No, that was my bad .... thanks for the reply. It's just a spare and I don't plan on showing the car, so anything will do so long as it will fit the hub and get me home!
