Took it out for a drive this weekend and headed to a weekly car show in town. Its got a "few" mods, but its been kept as close to stock as possible. Paint, and interior a 100% original. My biggest mod is the Baer 4 wheel disc setup, along with fully built suspension. Engine mods have been kept simple with an adjustable ECM chip, more boost, adjustable FPR, 3 Bar, Borla catback, walbro 255 pump, open cone. Its quick enough to blow the my V off the line, and stay ahead through out a 1/4 mile run. :) Check it out...

Very nice. I wanted one of those way back when. AWD and a turbo; one quick ride (when there weren't too many cars that could keep up).

I've always like Sy/Ty's. I actually designd a Sy t-shirt that I sell in my ebay store. I live in South Florida where you always see rare and exotic cars, but I cant remember the last time I saw a Syclone. Nice example, man!

They don't make trucks like that anymore, that's for sure. It ran a 13.1 or so, when it came out, right? That was porsche territory at the time, if I remember.

it outran the ferrari 348ts, one of the best 0-60's of ANY vehicle in its day and age, something like 4.3 0-60 on dry pavement, 4.6 0-60 in the rain. if u google "syclone motor trend" you should beable to find the motor trend articles that it was involved in. smoked alot of high end cars, and what no one could get over was that it was a truck and could be had for about 26-30k nicely equipped. its sad no one makes a truck like that today, but even if they did it would be a 60-70k vehicle. my dad almost bought a syclone when they came out, he's kicking himself now for not doing it. i LOVE them lol

That's a great truck indeed. I have always wanted one of those babies. When you find them nowdays they've either been modded and ragged out all to hell and need a lot of tlc, or they're pristine garage queens that people want an arm and a leg for. Yours looks like a great original condition truck. Those things are still faster then a MOST vehicles on the roadways. Nice find.

I found this example of a Typhoon that has been "
METICULOUSLY MAINTAINED BY DEALERSHIP SERVICE MANAGER OWNER." I emailed the seller and asked him if the meticulous maintenance included DUCT TAPE on the factory air intake. :pwn:

And a nice example of a Syclone:

Thank you fellas! I really enjoy driving the Syclone. its 0-100mph blast is breath taking. I get very little wheel spin when I launch on boost, which delivers a nice press on your chest. I am the second owner on the Syclone. I drove it about 1500 miles last year, and hope to drive it a bit more this year. I was in 4th grade when The Syclone hit the showroom. When I saw one at my local GMC dealer, I told my dad that someday day I would have one. worked really hard for it, so I really take care of it. Thanks for the nice comments guys!

The thing looks like it's in amazing shape - nicely done!

Call me crazy, but on my list of "Crazy Sleepers I Want to Build Someday" is an AWD Astro van with the Sy/Ty engine. I remember reading somewhere that the AWD Astros used the same AWD drivetrain as the Sy/Ty, so it would just be a matter of dropping the Sy/Ty powerplant in there (with some appropriate power mods, of course :p ).

Anyway, enough about me... Sweet truck, thanks for sharing!

yes, and also the early Bravada's without SmarTrak had the same Borg-Warner 4472 transfer case. I have always wanted to build a 1st gen Bravada with a modded to the gills Sy motor.
