No Lincoln's or Isuzu's.... nice

Just about every Integra is on that list.... still....

Surprised the Marauder is on there, seems like most people don't even know what it is.

What the heck do people want with a Suzuki econobox?

The Suzuki Aero is very bizarre BUT the Marauder is pretty clear--few even know it existed, but those who did want all the goodies for their cheapo Crown Vics and such. Sort of in the same way Integra's are stolen to often transplant a lot of the stuff into Civics.

Looks like a list of most wanted cars for the "Export Market." Yup! Merc 600's, Audi A8, old Range Rover, Cad Escalade looks like a Third World politicians dream list, or middle class emerging Asia economies. Mercury Marauder, now there's an interesting one ......... maybe the "cognoscenti bank robber" set! Didn't know they made enough of those to qualify for the list. Hot ricers, easy S.E. Asian middle management drug trade and smuggling, or children of same!

Wonder why it's only the '93 600SEL?

That's simple! It's what a Deputy Minister in a Third World country can afford to buy on the Black Market.

A few years ago, an insurance company specializing in classic cars listed the most stolen classic cars. No surprise, Corvettes were number 1 and Mustangs number 2. But Impalas were number 3.

I had previously used a club with Betty, but after reading that report, I bought a brake lock:

I figured it would be much harder to cut this off than it would be to simply take of the club-equipped steering wheel. Of course, no anti-theft device is 100% secure, but if I make it harder for somebody to rip off Betty, maybe they'll leave her alone and go after something unprotected. I use it whenever I take her out.

Who the hell steals a Suzuki Aerio???

I'll tell you why the Suzuki Aerio is on the list - I looked into this because I considered buying this car at one time. It's easy to steal! Take a look at it some time - it has a tiny window between the front door and A-pillar, allowing a thief to break/shatter it with very little noise/mess, get in, and boost it. And it probably doesn't have an immobilizer like most new cars have now.

Jey ....you forgot the one basic element that every aspiring businessman must never overlook ....DEMAND! The real reason the cars are on the "Top 20 Stolen List" is that that the United Arab Emirates are using them to create artificial reefs to improve recreational scuba diving and spear fishing in the Gulf. Without this demand for the cars they wouldn't even make the "Cars Least Likely to be Stolen List." By the way, the secretay of the guy who heads up the reef project is in the market for a1993 Mercedes S320!
