The car was great all the way down from NJ to Key West, but tonight the turn signal will not shut off when making a right hand turn, left turn is fine. Anyone else come across this?

Usually only happens here in Florida, lots of Cadillacs and Buicks going down the interstate here in the left lane with their left turn signals on for miles at a time... My car seems to be the exception.

LFG - I noticed this same problem on the loaner base model 08 CTS I got from a dealership while my car was being worked on. Car had 5k miles on it. Right signal would not turn off after making a right turn. Left signal worked fine.

LFG, I seem to recall one or two forum members mentioning a similar problem occurring on their cars a while back. They ended up going to the dealer to have a component replaced. On your car it sounds like it's either the steering wheel not properly engaging the turn signal cancel feature at the end of a right hand turn event, OR it's an electronic issue with the turn signal control system. You know this of course, but for the benefit of others who don't... the turn signal control system on the CTS is designed to provide an automatic 3-times flash routine when the turn stalk is momentarily raised or lowered in connection with a lane change manoeuvre. This very system may be messed up for right hand turn signalling on your car. You'll no doubt want to stop in at a dealer in Florida to have the problem sorted out. Please let us know what they find wrong with the system.

Hey, thanks for your thread and the updates regarding the gas mileage you're achieving on your trip from NJ to Key West.
Ahh man... just looking out the window now and seeing the snow coming down once again here in Albany, NY... what I wouldn't give to be soaking up the sun in Key West today! Some guys just have all the luck.
Have a great time in Florida, LFG.

Hey RAB, How's it going partner??
Sorry to here of your weather in Albany, NY. Just got back from poolside and it's 85 degrees here.
Heading down to Duval St. to meet some friends for some cocktails and fun.

No big deal on the turn signal, it happens in first year cars. I'll be checking it out again today. I can wait till I get home or take it to the dealer here in Key West. I drive by everyday and they have 1 White Diamond CTS on their lot, so must be a short supply down here also.
I'll let you know how I make out, if I go to the local dealer down here.

Stay warm Partner.

Poolside? 85 degrees? Cocktails and fun?
Damn, you just had to rub it in.
Stay warm? Hey, forget it! It's the northeast here, and there's a snow storm going on.
Anyway, no problem LFG... I'm going to be in Florida for ALL of next winter... so do enjoy your "brief" stay in Key West!
Catch you later...

I hate to chuckle, but that sounds like the GM gremlins of old. A buddy of mine was famous for having older "beater" GM cars in highschool (an 81 Malibu, 81 Century, 86 Celebrity, etc) and that was a common issue. Along with being able to remove the key while the car was driving, the drooping headliner, the bouncy shocks........man the good old days!

Drove around town today and the dam thing started working again (98% of the time). Still taking it to the dealer when I get back.
