Just wow!
| View Full Version : Just look at the wax job on the CTS I just did. 2004CTSNOV 05-18-04, 06:50 PM Just wow! 2004CTSNOV 05-18-04, 06:52 PM The product I used is in hte last picture. Only $15 bucks from Auto Zone. Who ever said Zaino was the best? strindl 05-18-04, 06:55 PM Very impressive shine there. I've got 4 coats of Meguiars NXT generation tech wax on my 04 blue chip cts..with similiar results to yours. I always used Zaino Bros products on my 99 Navy Blue Corvette previously, but this new meguiars stuff is really nice. It goes on and comes off easy as well. miscreant 05-18-04, 07:36 PM Okay, what gives? Where's your car? ARe you teasing? All I see are mirrors??? -1- 05-18-04, 07:42 PM :coolgleam LOOK-N-GOOD! Do you take appointments or can I just drop my car off?:lildevil:Actually Auto and Marine detailing is my trade. LOL, Im serious. It is by appointment. Dont expect it that good or anything though. Mine gets the baby treatment. rabid 05-18-04, 08:12 PM Damn. Okay, what gives? Where's your car? ARe you teasing? All I see are mirrors??? Exactly what I was thinking. Jon 05-18-04, 08:30 PM Very shiney man, looks beautiful. I cant find NXT anywhere in Ontario yet :( gothicaleigh 05-18-04, 08:38 PM You have the exact same car I do. :) Remember the predator movies? That's what the first pic reminded me of. :D I'm going to have to track some of that down. c5 rv 05-18-04, 09:02 PM Ya gotta love a black mirror! I've heard a lot of good things about NXT, the best being that it's available locally. Though I've used Zaino for a few years, I may give NXT a try this summer. M STaR 013 05-18-04, 09:14 PM heh, i just polished my Black CTS yesterday with Meguiars NXT wax. CTSNOV, i think we can both say, "Black Chrome!" nice job, and keep up the good work. brandyztoy 05-18-04, 10:40 PM very nice:coolgleam Chuck C 05-18-04, 10:50 PM whoa! so is zaino out? How long will this new stuff last (between washes, etc)? What about claying and other prep work..is it necessary? Do multiple coats contribute to increasingly glossy shine? Justin83NJ 05-19-04, 06:10 PM Wow that is amazing. I saved that first picture (the 'Predator' one) on my computer. I'm impressed. You should get sales commission from Meguiar's because you just sold me. M STaR 013 05-20-04, 01:28 AM for the leather in my car i use Meguiars Gold Class Rich Leather Foam. it cleans the leather very easily and it doesn't leave the seats all greasy. after 5 months, my seats still look like new. no cracks and the nice texture that it had when i got it off the lot... b4z 05-20-04, 12:00 PM 2004CTSNOV, Does the NXT have any polish in it? You know, like a cleaner/wax. Did you have any problems with swirl marks showing up? Did you do it by hand or with a orbital buffer? Also your seats are very shiny. Is that the correct treatement for leather? thanks in advance. b4z 05-23-04, 03:31 PM Just got the Tech Wax yesterday and this stuff is hard to get off. It is also hard to clean up the applicator pad and my hands afterward. My guess it will stay on the car a long time. I am not sure it is that shiny. It seems to be darker than the unwaxed part and slightly less rerflective. It does hide scratches and evens everything out which make the car look a little better. My SRX has a lot of surface area. So far I have done the hood and fenders and back tailgate. at this rate it will be a week before I finish. LOL. strindl 05-24-04, 09:43 AM Just got the Tech Wax yesterday and this stuff is hard to get off. . Wow...that has not been my experience. I apply it to the whole car all at once...then walk away for 45 minutes or so to let it dry. After that, it comes off real easy. I always seem to find a few spots where I missed buffing it off, generally when I back it out of the garage the next morning, but that has happened with every wax I've used. shaggygrosser 05-24-04, 01:12 PM Once I saw those first few pics, I ran out to Advance Auto and picked up a bottle of that nxt (last bottle on the shelf :coolgleam ). Stuff was easy to apply, easy to buff, looks great. I was also curious about how long this stuff lasts. I tried finding it on the box, bottle, and the website, but no dice. I've heard that synthetics last about 5 times longer, I'm hoping this is the same case for nxt. T_Dogg8 05-25-04, 10:53 AM was that by hand or an orbital buffer?? nupeskee 05-25-04, 11:16 AM It can be applied with an orbital buffer or by hand. I use a buffer because its easier to apply evenly. And you can use the orbital to take it off. I use Porter Cable 7424. If its too hard to get off, then you put to much on. The jury is still out on how long it lasts. Some say it last only four washes, some longer. If you wash you car with a quality car shampoo it will help. Don't use the cheap $3 stuff because it will take the wax off. These products are engineering to work as a unit. If you can't find the NXT car wash, use the Meguiars Gold Wash. hcvone 05-26-04, 11:41 AM NXT is a cleaner wax, it can not be layered and does not last very long, if durability is not an issue this product will work for you, it gives a good shine when first applied. | |
