So I posted this same question in the DeVille and Fleetwood section, and thought I'd try here as well to make sure everyone who could help would see.. ..So I'm wondering what everyones' take is on the 4100 after it craps out.. I mean, when we have an otherwise wonderful example of an 82 to 85 RWD Fleetwood or 82-84 DeVille, do you just junk it and look for another? or has any of us replaced the 4100 power plant? ( keep in mind, I'm in a state that won't allow putting in something better, like a 368,350,etc) it's gotta' be what came with it origianally.. I ask because I've stumbled on a stunning tripple black Brougham d'Elegance with sunroof, leather, classic grill.. and with the exception of the engine, is fantastic.. What is the usual recourse here? is this engine cheep to buy re manufactured due to it's history of unreliability in the rear drive cars?
