Though I don't agree with his choices (stupid worthless Glock?!?), its a helluva fun read.

.454 Casull revolver in a black tooled leather holster. Makes Clint Eastwood's S&W .44 look (and sound) like a HiStandard .22. However, "Make my day !" will live forever.

Good list. Marks off for no mention of the Dillon Aero.

.50cal BMG rifles were used by snipers in the Korean war in the early fifties. Army armorers custom built them in country. American Rifleman magazine had several articles. Ronnie Barrett was a Johnny-come-lately. The item in the articles that impressed me was that not only was the recoil fierce, the rifle rotated in the shooters hands from the spin-up loads from the spiral rifling.

Well, I do have the AR-15 and guess what else from that list? A Mosin-Nagant 91/30 rifle.

I da man!

I was looking for the Striker Street Sweeper. I remember a "Cops" episode where the police responded to a report of a home invasion. A neighbor with a Street Sweeper got there before the cops and there were bodies everywhere. The rescuer panicked and ran off leaving the weapon behind. The cops located him in the neighborhood, gave him the gun back, and complimented him on the great shooting. It turned out to be drug dealers trying to collect money at the wrong house. An example of Neighborhood Watch at its best.

I would have to agree with most of his choices. Loved his comments on the AK.

Funny, I like my 92FS but from this article not the most manly (As a matter of fact the opposite). LOL.

the US Army is fixing its unmanly error of the 9mm by calling for bids on a new .45,
I found this interesting and was unaware of it. All I can say is it is about time.

This thread made me cry...

Last Sunday my club was robbed at 11:30am, broad day light.

They got the safe, and when they flipped the desk over my GLOCK 23 that was velcroed underneath must have fallen out or spotted and they got it.

This 23 was my baby, Stainless slide, ported, trigger, night sights.. and my Galco holster which took forever to break in.

It was reported stolen within a couple hours of the theft...

...were you there when it happened? I'd have likely used it...

Crappy to hear that man. I'm assuming you're insured against things like that?

HA...and limp wristed enough to need a ported barrel! :)

I'd really like to buy a BFR and have it rechambered for the .50 Beowulf that my AR-15 fires...

Most of the AR Beos I've seen use ported barrels on a rifle, and only up to 400 grain rounds.

You haven't fired ten rounds in three seconds out of one, have you? Hehehehe...An amazing round. WITH the break, it's much like a heavy 3" 12g magnum load...and there are 500 grainers available that still run somewhere around 1800 fps.

Nope, but I have fired 8 3" 12 gauge slugs out of a Benelli M1 in about 3 seconds, and they don't have muzzle brakes. Those are about 500 grains in bullet weight :yup:

But again that's shooting them out of a two handed weapon vs a handgun.

Google back in history, to the Battle of Sharpsburg (Antietam), and read of and look at some of the horrible damage inflicted by .50 and .58 calibre pure lead rifled slugs. Heavy and slow. 23,100+ men killed, wounded, or missing in ONE day of battle. The piles of amputated limbs outside the hospital tents reached 8 feet high. No anesthetic used.

Yeah those days of battle were brutal. :boom:
