Anyone have a trick for removing a distributor that is frozen to the block :confused::confused:

Take a rag soaked in marvel Mystery oil and wrap it around the base of the dist where it penetrates the timing cover. Also soak the interior to free the shaft and it's bushings. Several days later revmove the clamp and get the base to rotate with discrete blows with a hammer and screwdriver.
It then should come out.

I had the same problem on my 68 cdv. I moved the ac compressor to the side to gain access to the distributor shaft with a pipe wrench. Moving it back and forth, and with upward pressure, it did take some doing but I did get it removed without ruining it. Good luck!
