My 87 Deville has original OEM Wire Wheel's, (hubcaps),a couple of them have pretty bad brake dust build up on the back's and bottom's,(baked on in some spots),have tried Simple Green and rim cleaner to no avail.(scrubbed like hell),
and left some skin on em. :crying2:
Has anyone ever done the acid dip and re- chrome?
If so what was the cost?
Or if anyone can suggest a product, (and or process) ,that can help me get these damn wire wheel's somewhat cleaned up,I'd appreciate it. :banghead:
Thanks again,
Dan

I was going to do the same thing for my 87' fleetwood. Call up a automotive costoms shop in your city and ask them if they know of any rechroming places. You could also check the yellow pages.

Take in mind when doing this it significantly weakens them.....

Have you tried any wheel specifc cleaner??? Ive seen some TERRIBLE looking wheels go to looking golden..... Eagle one makes a good one.....
