Hi guys and gals,

I have this out to see what kind of interest there is for another meet. I am thinking sometime in April or May. If you want it sooner great.

What are your ideas as what we should do. Should we meet at another restaurant? Bar? Have a Bar Bee Que?

I hope to have a much more interest than we had in the past. I know there are a lot of beauties out there. I would love to see some of the older ones, like from the 60's and 70's as well.

We are open to suggestions and ideas.

Bob

I'd be up for it. Trick would be to get a lot of the people who live somewhat nearby (within 80-100 miles) to make the drive down.

Well, there is always plenty of people for a Tampa meet.

I'd do it.

Only thing is my days off are no longer weekend friendly, atleast not Fri and Sat.... ways to work around it tho. I'd prefer Sat evening....

Some of the best meets are at nice restaruants, I'm not into the bar thing, at all. I enjoy it last time because of the people, but other then that...eh.... The Cheesecake Factory was awesome when we went, or maybe a beach place.

The International Plaza, I felt was not such a great place, first of all, the parking was not very friendly for the meet itself, and too far away from the restaurants, and to get over there, you had to drive and parking was impossible. Also, there was a very long wait to get into the Cheesecake Factory. I am thinking along the lines of first meeting at let's say, Ed Morse Cadillac, if they will have us, and then going to Carrollwood for dinner. Another option would be to go to the Rusty Pelican next time around.

What do you all think about those plans?

Plan on taking a couple of months to get people aware of the meet. It takes time to get a good crowd. I'm not up for a bar at all. So much so that I would pass. I don't drink. I'm not single. I don't like bar crowds. Done deal.

You guys in Tampa should consider taking a little trip to Orlando and having the meet at Old Town. If you don't know what Old Town is, ask Boombotz or do a search on the net. There's a very large car show every Friday and Saturday night. There's plenty of places to eat inside and on the same street. There's a Red Lobster right next store and various places in and around.. If you like cars, it would be a great place to go. There's always a few very old Caddy's..

Hi Sal,

The Rusty Pelican is a nice restaurant not a bar who's location is on the water. It is on the Causeway going out Clearwater Beach. I'm not too sure, but I could be wrong, I don't think this group would be up for going up to Orlando, especially in days of ever rising gas prices.

I can understand your feelings of not wanting to go to a bar as I don't really drink myself, especially if I am driving and we should not promote such things.

Guys, let me know what you want.

Thanks.

im going to have to agree with Sal on going to old town in Orlando.

All's good.. The 4-5 hour ride is too much for me. You Tampa members are lucky to have so many people in close vicinity. Even Orlando is almost 3 hours for me - but I'd go.. If an hour is too much for you guys, than what can I do?

I can see you point Sal. I am putting out general ideas to everbody to see what you all want to do. I am open to what everybody wants to do.

Please speak up everybody.

It's 110% understandable if people would rather stay in Tampa.. I just find the Old Town show a really great place to have an automotive meet..

I would consider staging the meet in Orlando... if there are some Orlando members who would agree to show up as well. Are there any Orlando members?

Should we start a separate thread for this?

Okay, let's try a Saturday evening in Old Town, Orlando. I am looking at April 19, 26, May 3rd or May 10th. I would like to do this before the love bug season starts. I think you would all agree it would be nasty to have our cars full of those bugs at the meet.

Does anybody any of the particulars of the big meet. When, time, where? Do we have to contact anybody to let them know we are coming or do we just show up? It would be nice if we could scope out a section for just Caddys'. What so you all think?

I have already hosted 3 meets in this location and all have went over very well. We already have a specific parking lot that they give us let me know and I can help you out on this one and get you set up as far as a roped of area. I do have to have the specifics of date and time before you can book. I also have some people who are not part of this forum in Orlando who have contacted me and have been part of the other meets.I am sure they would like to be notified so I do have there e-mail. Old-Town will put this in there monthly book so if you want to give contact info you will even get people who are not part of this forum to join. You do need to allow time for this meet to have a good turn out. I can tell you that right now that I can not say if me and Tom will be there because the baby will be here in 2 weeks. I have to see how things are going as of April, but if I am healed we will probably come. You should also let the members know that this is a great family setting with much for the kids to do so bring the family and make it a day.

How much time should we allow for this whole in terms of a timeline? I will be happy to be the contact for this thing since it seems that I am organizing this thing. I really do appreciate any help you can give us.

Where exactly is this? I am thinking if the group agrees, about 5pm.

Bob

By the way, congrats on the baby.

It really would be nice to have Tom and Julie there.. They're great people and the more of those we have, the better. :p How long before you're okay to be out and meeting, Julie?

http://old-town.com/ here is the link to there web site. The contact that I have always dealt with is Amy Walsh. If we get the exact date and pretty quick I will be able to help you with this end of it and getting the usually spot. I am thinking the begining of May would be the best like May 3rd or very end of April. Stay away from the 10th because the 11th is Mothers Day. As far as time 4:00 PM sounds good. I know a group of us from Tampa have all met at the Flying J and did the Drive over that was always fun.

I am hoping if we go with the first Saturday of May I should be fine, but being it is a C-Section you never know. As long as all goes as plan and no infections though it should be okay for us to make it.

If it is okay with everybody out there, we could go with Saturday, May 3rd at 4, if that is the standard time as Julie is saying. I definitely want Tom and Julie as they are a wonderful addition to the meet.

Julie, if you will please make the contact. I will send another thread out making the official annoucement. I hope to have a larger crowd out there. Kississimme is a good place to meet as we don't have to go to downtown Orlando.

It sounds like fun.

You were not there for our last meet at the International Plaza (Tampa Mall Rats '06) it was a great meet, small though, but so much fun. We parked on the top of the Dillards parking garage, it was empty. Wait time for Cheesecake factory was a bit, but we were all together, it didn't matter.... my "it's all pink on the inside" comment kept everybody laughing :)

Anyway, Old Town is awesome, we've had plenty of great meets there. I see we have the other thread for it. Old Town is great for a big meet, but the International Plaza like last time was fine when we had about 8 of us, lotta fun.

I had a great time at International Plaza. I just thought we would try something different since there seems to be an interest in Kississimmi. I hope to have a huge showing there and I hope that we get some people from the Gold Coast and mid east coast of Florida as well. We need to far outclass the hotrods there.

Amy is a godess , the definition of a godess ...

Extremely pretty ,wields supernatural powers over men, can make any mere mortal bow down to her, unobatinable to common folk like me , the only thing that i can do is worship her or be her lone groupie.....

Owns a Acura but is a very close freind of julies ...so thats how i met her ....

Sadly there too many confilcts between who i am and who she is for anything to happen , so i just talk to her at the meets ....
