hello. i want to know how to choose a replacement a/c compressor for my 1979 coupe de ville. they seem to vary between a five inch pulley and a 5 3/4 inch pulley. is this referring to the size of the wheel on the front of the clutch assembly? thanks.

Yes it is , and you can use either one
my cad had the smaller one of those pulleys and it
worked fine but when I changed
the clutch assembly (my clutch flew off while driveing one time) (scarred the crap out of me).
when i changed mine i went with a larger one(from the wrecking yard )
i have not noticed any difference except it is hell to put on a new a/c belt now

The 5 inch model will work fine no problem:)
