My first post. I am thinking about getting a CTS in the fall and I am currently driving an 05 G35. My G35 gathers zero brake dust and the driver's seat after 3 yrs still has no creases where I sit. I hate brake dust and really dislike seats that have creases and stretch lines from being used. Does the CTS gather brake dust on its wheels and do the seats retain their original form after a lot of use?
If you get a car with the J55 Performance Brake option, then you'll see a lot of break dust. Cars without that package don't seem to get much/any brake dust.
I had an '03 G35 that produced terrible break dust -- until I replaced the breaks with ceramics which solved the problem. With my new '08 CTS, I'm seeing minimal break dust (all-weather performance FE2 package). Regarding the leather, my G35 (black seats) showed lots of creases and wear. So far none on the CTS (light titanium). Prior experience with GM leather is also very positive.
As a last comment, the '08 CTS is a far better car than my G35 was, both in handling, quality and style. I'm not a car lover but I really enjoy driving this car.

Some cars with performance brakes see a lot of brake dust, but not all. I have the performance brakes and have had no probs with dust.
Regarding the seats, I doubt if anyone has had an '08 CTS long enough to know how they'll look over the long term. I know Cadillac has emphasized the quality of interior materials for the CTS (versus, for example, the new MB C-Class), so I expect the seats will do well.

if you get the painted wheels the brake dust isnt as easily noticeable
