Hello

Has anyone that has GPS have their radio not work after doing a remote star? This morning was the second time it happened to me. The radio display turns on but no sound. I drove for awhile and then stopped and turned the car off and then back on again and still no sound. I had to run out for an appointment later in the morning and did not remote start it and the worked again

If you have everything associated OEM take it back to the Dealer. You have a bumper to bumper warranty. Use it.

Yes thats happened to me, did the infotainment plate take forever to wake up (turn on?) as well? Basically what is happening is the AMP isnt waking up correctly. You probably had a little itty bit of audio come through as "pops" from the sub though correct?

I'm expecting a recall on the Nav system in the near future. Too many gliches.

All the menus work and it came on as normal, but totally silent, no noise at all.

So maybe I have a different issue than you.

Did the infotainment plate take awhile to kick on after the key was turned to RUN? It's probably the same issue just slightly different outcomes, if the AMP doesnt turn on from its wake up request you get no audio or if you crank it up a little bit of the feed noise makes it through (which is what I was referring to). If it does it again take a look at all your controls on the front plate if they dont turn on for awhile after the key is started its likely a bus issue.

I believe it came right on but could be wrong. I will keep an eye out next time

This and other strange things seem to happen when using remote start that don't happen with normal start. I think there are some electrical issues that are being worked on to find out what causes the remote start glitches.

I have the non-nav HDD audio system and had one case when after remote start, the front speakers (on the dash) did not come on, and the turn signal "clicker" noise was missing as well. Was fine the next morning.

Working for a major automotive electronics suppler, I know that the recent introduction of remote start as a factory option on vehicles presents a whole new set of power moding problems, and I think we are experiencing some of them. With so many electronic boxes on the vehicle, from so many different suppliers, it is very difficult for OEMs to validate all possible use cases.

Too many different countries making the electronic parts. Sometimes they are not compatible with each other.

I'm having this problem with my front speakers.....did the problem ever resurface, or did you take the car in? I don't have remote start.

Nope, never had the problem since (knock on wood), so didn't take to dealer since I could not reproduce.

The other day when I started the car (not remote), nothing would play on the radio no matter what it was on. The screen showed all the info, but no sound. I shut the car off and restarted and everything worked. Working fine now.

Just a note that this issue is happening on my CTS w/ NAV as well (less than 4000 miles on it). Earlier this week the nav screen was taking a long time to turn on but I had sound immediately. As of this morning, I have a fullly operational screen (still taking a while to come on) but have no sound other than some random low level thumps from the sub-woofer. Taking to the dealer when I get back from business trip later this week.

That's what I had but, still had all the info on my screen. Has not happened again. :hmm:
