One of my daytime runner/ high beam bulbs exploded yesterday... :yup:

I want to to replace my headlamp and high beam bulbs on my 96 SLS... I will be going to either Auto Zone or Walmart this afternoon... I don't want to order anything online, and don't want to spend too much. What are the best bulbs for me to get?

Take a look at the Sylvania website to get the correct bulb numbers for your car.

I have had good luck with GE Nighthawk bulbs, which are considerably brighter than the stock Sylvania units, and don't cost an arm and a leg. PIAA is also a bright bulb (Intense White, 4100K), but pricey.

You could search in here for DRL, running lamps, etc. and figure how to disable them: the highs will then last forever.
