I am going to post 3 pictures. You should be able to ID the car, the year, and the engine. All 3 picture are of the engine.

This will get CadillacSTS2003 going.

The one picture showing looks like my 1995 or 97 Deville's battery and bracket above the battery.

Look at the Valve Cover Bolt.

After my buddy CadillacSTS2003 chimes in I will post the next picture.

I picked up on that in the last pic, but don't know what years had those. Dogbones went away after, what '99?

AJxtcman
02-19-08, 04:22 PM
They used them all the way up to 2002 on some FWD cars. Then they came back on the 2006 DTS

AJxtcman
02-19-08, 04:28 PM
So this must be a 2000+ car, but look at how the Alternator is atached:hmm:
This would be the 96 to 99? type.:hmm:

Well, its certainly not a 98-03 seville, they dont have the dog bones, plus the battery is under the back seat on those years. It could be a 93-97 Seville, or a Deville, or an eldorado.

Submariner409

It's a 1955 Hudson Hornet.

A 1955 Hudson Hornet was a poser built by AMC. 1954 was the last year for the real "Fabulous Hudson Hornet" with "Twin H Power".

AJxtcman
02-19-08, 06:47 PM
This must be some left over car that they through a 2000+ engine in?

Wait

You mean that you could put a 2000 to 2003 engine in a 96 to 99 car.

The pictures are of a Factory Built car.

It is Eldorado version 2000+ Northstar dogbones and engine brackets.

The 1998 and newer Sevilles and 2000 newer Devilles don't have these.

I've been searching high and low for these exact engine brackets and dogbones to add to my 2001 DTS. Also looking for the radiator support brackets.

No luck so far..

I even have pics and diagrams saved to my hard drive.

nope
thats surely a Eldorado

valve cover leads me to believe a 00-02
the color is a dead give away to a 02 Eldo ECS Aztec Red
likely AJs dads car

sorry it took me so long, im limiting my forum time, im sick of getting banned for the same crap that some "high ranking" authority people pull

Yes this was an 02 Collectors Edition. I installed rear Knuckles. It is a customers car. 37K on it.

BTW the other one is my Boss's fathers car. I must have left out the part that it was my boss's. Sorry. He slid in a ditch the other day with it. When I was doing the knuckles on that car someone made a comment about Eric's dads car never seeing the snow. I got a laugh when I said it had been in the ditch the week before. Luckily it had NO damage.
Boy is that red ever red.

I think the engine brackets I am looking for would have to be from a 2000-2003 Eldo with the newer style block.

Havent found one yet in any yards.

Would be pretty easy to remove the engine brackets, the dog bones, and the radiator mounts.

or a newer DTS....

CadillacSTS42005
02-20-08, 07:40 PM
on a 02 Eldo
Right= 3540159 $24.21
Left= 12564847 $13.47

those are for the brackets that mount to the engine

it lists part num years from 93-02
to me that means any eldo will work

AJxtcman
02-20-08, 08:27 PM
Wait wait I have been saying this.
You can put a 02 Eldo engine in a 99 Deville.
The brackets are the same. The alternators are the same. Look at the pictures.

You can not install 02 Eldo dog bones on a 98 and newer Seville or a 00 and newer Deville.
For one the upper core support is all wrong. it is thin and unbolts. Then the angles are all wrong and it just won't work

CadillacSTS42005
02-20-08, 10:42 PM
damn
i was hoping you could

gotta be a way to hold all the power down

AJ how about a DTS, you said they added dogbones to them

Ranger
02-20-08, 11:02 PM
Yeah, I was kind of considering it myself as I have just had one replaced under warranty. Tech told me the new ones have a heat shield and that the lack of it was the reason for the failure. I don't know, but I'd feel better with torques struts added. Don't know why they did away with them.

It also has a crack in the carbon fiber trim at the Collectors plaque. Yeah guess what. We can't get one.

So this collectors has a broken piece of dash trim that is not available.

CadillacSTS42005
03-17-08, 08:55 PM
yup
all of the parts are special order/discontinued
when they came out i was going to add the interior and carbon fiber to my 97

if it was the White version theres a wrecked one very close to me

but the interior is entirely different
