I am considering installing shorty's on my 07 EXT since I can not find long tubes anywhere. Is anyone running these. How do you like them? Any power gains?

I thought TByrne said the long tubes were coming out from SuperMaxx, I thought they were released. I just do not think your gain with shorties will be worth it IMO

We have shorty headers on our EXT and they do give better mid and top end power. Granted if you're going balls out, a set of long tube headers is a better way to make power, but they do make more noise.

Here's the new video with our EXT

I have not seen them yet from SuperMaxx. I check again today. Is the noise really that bad? I don't want my truck to souynd like a drag truck but I do want to make the most out of any mod. So how much louder will long tubes be over short? I am runnig a Corsa cat back now and it sounds good.

Not a huge difference in noise with long tubes, what Corsa system do you have Touring or Sport? The Sport will be pretty loud with long tubes

I have the sport Corsa. So the long and short tube headers make about the same level of noise?

You will hear slightly more engine noise thru long tubes, and you will get louder out the back with long tubes vs shorties, I have always prefered Touring with long tubes on my trucks and Corvette's, but then again I am old.

I am aged (49) but not old so I guess a bit louder does not bother me. What I was hoping to find out is how much added HP to the wheels would shorties add. I don't want to go throught the time and money if it is not worth it.

Advertised power gains are 14 RWHP and 18lbs LBS/TQ.

Of course there are air filter manufacturers that claim 49 hp from their filters. ;)

Not bad number's at all if true. That would mean that flywheel power gain should be around 20 HP.
