Can you tell from a Cad's VIN what size engine it left the factory with? I've been looking on eBay, etc for a 90-92 FWB, the sellers usually always give the VIN of the car, but frequently don't say what size engine is in it. Any way to tell from the VIN?

Thanks very much......

Go to carfax.com, paste in the VIN, and it will tell you the engine size. You will quickly figure out what letter tells you what engine is in the car:thumbsup:

The 8th digit in the VIN identifies the engine.

I'll attach a "VIN card" to this post that explains the VIN and identifies what each character stands for.

Ack, the whole card is too big, here is the passenger car engine section.
Anything that says "div usage" with a "6" is for Cadillac.

Most welcome.
That card is for '91.
I have access to all of them for the last couple decades.
