I put an aftermarket DVD HU in today with a wiring harness from Walmart and I only hear sound from the left front speaker.Does anyone know the color coding for the factory harness so I can try to get the rest of the speakers working.Also I lost my warning chimes when the factory stereo was pulled.Everything else seems to work fine.The stereo I put in has an output for the center speaker so i am hoping to connect that also.I had to find my own accessory wire but that all went fine.I have the non BOSE system and it was a factory tape deck.I bought a Bosch install kit and modified it to fit my double din stereo and it looks great.If any one can shed some light on this I would really appreciate it.You guys really seem to know your stuff so I decided to join and ask for help.Do I need to buy a special wiring harness for my car to make everything work properly?I'm pretty good with wiring but I don't want to chance frying the digital dash if I can find an easier way.If not I have a very nice parts car that I got when I bought this Caddy.Please Help.Thanks,Bob.

and even with that the 96-99 Deville is notorious for MANY issues unless the factory radio remains in the car SOMEWHERE

Is this the only thing available to make my system work properly?It is quite expensive but if it is what I need I will get it.Is there a harness that will allow my factory HU to remain in the trunk?

Are you sure the GMOS-03 is the proper interface for me?I don't think I have a factory amp and I don't have onstar either.Not sure about the amp because the factory system did sound very good.Wouldn't know were to find it if there is one.There is a mess of stuff mouted to the back of the rear seat including the fuse panel I think.This is obviously my first Caddy and I don't want to screw up anything.I don't want to buy this interface if it may not work for me since I found there are so many different ones and apparently the 96 Devilles are oddballs.

either way yea you need it it maintains the data class system in the car
and even with it youll still need to t harness the car and connect the factory hu in the trunk
do a search without doing that youll have more trouble than its worth

So you think I'll need the GMRC-03 and an additional harness too?If so do you know what or how I can find out what that harness is?

if you T harness it then you prob wont need the rc-03
if you dont youll need the rc-03 and youll still have some issues
the hu has to stay plugged into the car period

Yeah I have been reading about all the issues people are having with that interface so I'm going to find a differant way.My 96 Bonneville had a harness that bypassed the HU with a harness that ran from the trunk to the new HU.I can't seem to find a kit like that for my Caddy although that seems to be what I need.I really don't have time to make a custom harness so does this harness exist somewhere?

that would be a T harness.....

and no most people buy the 24 pin version and hack off the plugs get a 32 pin male and female plug and mate it to the wires

It has to be a custom made harness though right?If so has anyone documented how it's done?Hopefully with photo's.This is starting to be more of a hassle than it's worth.I went out and spent alot of money on the HU amp and sub only to hear bass and sound out of the front left speaker.There has to be a better way!!

Hey I found this harness from Best Kits.It is the BHA2020.Here is the site http://www.hifisoundconnection.com/Shop/Control/Product/fp/vpid/2669782/vpcsid/0/SFV/30046 .Iwas wondering if anyone has used it or heard anything about it.I do have a factory amp which I didn't know but apparently most Caddy's do have the amp.I hope someone knows if this harness will help us or I will have to be the guinee pig I guess.This seems to be the easy way out since the GMRC-03 is a joke and a waste of hard earned dough!!Aside from rewiring the whole car this looks like it may be the answer we are looking for.Someone let me know what you think about this kit.

I have a 96 Sedan DeVille, non-bose and I want to use the "T" harness to put an aftermarket HU in the car. I am audio literate but ignorant about cadillacs. So could you explain or link me to a already posted thread on how to build and install a "T" harness? Also, if you wouldn't mind, a little overview on how the system works would be greatly appreciated!!!

I caught your comment on how your mom's 96 worked with just the regular harness! I have to say you were right about not searching hard enough. I think I'm good. Oh, one more thing, what do you think about the JL audio clean sweep?
