Hey, I finally joined after several weeks of searching around on the forum. I have a 2004 CTS (black/black). I LOVE it! anyway, would it be a problem to post like 20 or some times in this thread, so I'll be able to PM people?

BLKILAC isn't the only person to overlook the finite details in the user agreement.

Please, stick around and enjoy the forums. Just relax, make some worthwhile posts, and get to know people. You'll be able to IM people in no time. ;)

I think you should do it again!

Even though your car has a V6 (like my wife's car), you will find a place you fit in the forum.

So welcome.

i'm not spamming anything, I have some questions that I wanted to private message a couple members about, so instead of being stupid (like i previously was,) and posting 30 or more posts in one thread, i thought i should at least post real posts. and give some members feedback on some of their mods.

and thats just the spam from the CTS forum from Today. (there was one that can be interpreted as semi-useful, so i didnt bother to post that one).
theres more all around the forum.... from today. not so reformed are we now?

its annoying as hell to see a shitload of old threads pop up in your subscription with absolutely nothing beneficial, new, or interesting.

point is, dont spam.... add something useful... if you're gonna take something useful away from this forum, at least give something useful back.

I have some questions that I wanted to private message a couple members about,
and btw, in the agreement you signed when joining it says something about "this is a public forum, everyone can and should benefit from the information & knowledge discussed by members. if you think other members on this forum can benefit from information, please do not hide it in Private Messages."

In addition, private messages are not intended to deprive the Community of valuable information or experiences which could benefit the entire group. Please do not use private messages if the content of the message can be helpful to others.
you could have very simply posted threads in regards to your questions & received answers to them & even helped out other members by giving them access to some info. but of course, you didnt and instead spammed all throughout the boards.

but you're right, my bad bro....

From the boss:

PMs are a privilege, not a right. Per our rules, there may be a certain postcount threshold for which PMs will be enabled, before which PMs are off. Any member seen "spamming" to increase their postcount beyond this level will be dealt with.

Spamming is posting useless, non-contributary junk that helps nobody. Examples are 1-word posts, "nice car" posts, 1 smilie posts, or "post #1". Your posts must have content to earn the privilege of PMs. Supporting members have PMs enabled upon payment regardless of postcount, but are still subject to the forum's rules.
http://www.cadillacforums.com/subscribe.html

How will I deal with spammers? PMs will most certainly be disabled for good. Removal from ability to post is possible. Other actions will vary.

It's just never a good thing when people come here in a big hurry to PM people. They always make the forum gods angry and things end ugly.

dont worry, your PMs were permanently disabled after the first time you pulled this crap. so move along. stop trying for 30, wont help.
You also misunderstand the purpose of PMs. Gathering information privately does not help the community. Questions are to be posted here on the forum in public, in the proper place for your vehicle. And thanks for pointing out our rules again Rolex. Some folks need to re-read them.
