Greetings all

I just bought a 91 Brougham D Elegance and I am considering plus sizing the wheels and tires..or going with old school wide whitewalls...which apparently are 3 times the price of regular whitewalls...anyway...

The local tire place told me I have a 5 on 5" lug pattern which equates to 5 x 127mm. I didn't get the offset info from him...so I am lost there.

My plan is to try and find a deal on some wheels on ebay or online somewhere..but I want to make sure I am buying the correct wheels before I purchase online

The set up I am thinking of is 18" wheels with the correct lug pattern and offset with some low profile tires.

Anyone know if my info is correct for this car? 5 on 5" or 5 on 127mm? Anyone know the correct offset and backspacing for the car?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Also, great to have a forum for folks with the land yacht sickness..heh

5x5 or 5x127 is correct. An easy way to go about shopping for wheels is to just plug in Caprice or Impala SS when looking for them on ebay. Same bolt pattern is for full size GM trucks and vans. Hope this helps. Here's a pic of my ex '91 w/17" Impala SS wheels just as an example of how Caprice/Imapala wheels fit in the wheelwells of a Brougham. Mine was lowered and I had no rubbing issues.

Use the Tire Calculator (http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html) to find the plus size tire that keeps your overall height very close to your stock tire. This will keep your speedo reading correct.
