Hello,
In the 2005 CTS-V owners manual and navigation manual is mentioned the ability to burn DVD’s, and CD’s that hold html web pages and then to be able to read this on the onboard DVD/CD player. This point is not clear, although I assume they mean to place these in the DVD/Navigation player.
I have tried burning several CD’s we no luck of them being read by either the DVD player or the CD changer. I noticed in the manuals that it mentions that if one creates a index.htm file that it will open this file automatically and then one can select from the directory, but it also states this is not necessary. It doesn’t matter in my case because it never gets that far, when I select the browser button it says something like no browser disk is available.
It is a little thing but aggregating to not be able to use this feature. The first disk that I am trying has both the owners manual and navigation manual on html web pages. I thought it would be cool to be able to read them from inside the car. I found these in PDF format on the Internet and then used a shareware program to convert them to html files.
I am beginning to wonder if it is not a typo that CD’s can be read, maybe only DVD’s work? Has anyone attempted to do what I am talking about? How did you get it to work? Thanks for any help you can provide.
This is my first post btw, I searched through the search feature here and couldn’t find anything on this, but perhaps I have missed it, if so please direct me to the info. Thanks!
