Has anyone done their own exhaust?

I have several options to get exhaust on my 68 coupe deville. I was playing with the idea of piecing it together myself since I was not very happy with the duals that someone local put on my 69 charger. I wanted to have some mandrel bent 2.5" duals with an h-pipe but no one has a bender for it.
Flowmaster makes the 15936 header back "u-fit" universal dual exhaust kit, which includes everything except the mufflers. Maybe my flux core wire feed welder could tack it together.
The last option is to settle for whoever and just deal with it.
