Honestly.. I'd rather buy a brand new Escalade.. But when you look at this car, you're going to say - "wow". It really is that nice. But $55k? What do you think?

Someone who needs some of the cylinders in the 500CID motor -- as the ones in his head are not all firing...

Or someone w/unlimited: 1.) resources, 2.) storage space, and 3.) Cadillac sickness

That is reallyy a beautiful car. It probably gets better gas mileage with the 500 CI than a escalade, don't the escalades get 9 1/2 MPG? I don't see how people will buy a 9 1/2 mpg vehicle. Awesome Caddy but 55,000 will buy a 3 br house where I live. LOL TexasCadillac

I hate the 15x8 wheels, just too wide, they make the car look more Chevrolet Chevelle than Cadillac Brougham.

That guy is a major collector, he has a way of finding the most pristine Cadillacs around, last year he had a perfect '91 IIRC that went for around 32k.

Matt Garret at it again. I bow to him. He must rob banks for a living. That car is Ohhh so nice, and judging his other cars, his home, and his garage, you can tell its nothing but the best.

I know if i won the mega millions id definatly buy it. It make a good daily beater. :P

Been seeing this car and others that he has (many). He is or was a member here and he's a member at many other forums including Mercedes. This is one of the nicest Caddy's I have ever seen and normally I dont go for this color combo/wheels or even the '79 body style. Everything on this car just kinda fits well together. Even though I like it, there are MANY other cars I'd rather have for $55k.

I've seen this car before. Very nice. 500 big block. $25K at the most. If it had a 572 Chevy, maybe $35K. If I had the funds, I'd get a 572 with TH400.

Hey guys, correct me if Im wrong, but arent those wheels the ones they refer to as "swangers" or "swangas"? They look different than the usual factory wires. From what I understand, these "swanga" rims are RARE. Does anyone have any info on them? There is actually a set on ebay right now and last time I checked, the set is up past 1,400 bucks, and they are beat up pretty bad.:bonkers: That just goes to show how hard to find they are.

That is nice, Id rather have that than an Esclade, a little pricy though, Maybe if I was Bill Gates.

I've lusted over that car for a long time. Yeah, I'd give that - it's the 1980 Cadillac that never was but should have been, done up with nothing but the best.

He used those wires because the usual breed can't stand up to the torque.

I like the effort that went into making the car what it is. Kinda like a money is no object type of thing. Personally, if I were going to really do up a 500ci Caddy engine, I'd want it in a '70 Eldo. Anyway, it's a super-sharp FW no doubt, but about 200 horses more than I would ever need.

Nine and a half miles per gallon?! Is THAT the impression people have of the Escalade? I don't even think the Hummer gets gas mileage that bad. I have a 2005 ESV (the longest, heaviest Escalade) and I get 14 miles per gallon during city driving...

15x6 steelies with wire hubcaps and 1.3" whitewalls would get the job done just fine, thank you.

He was referencing the standard "true" wires as being inadequate.

Yes, and I'm commenting on widespread obsession I see with the wires. I don't see why he went to such extreme measures just to have real wires, those wheels strike me as tacky. So, I think it would have looked much better if he had just gone with a very clean set of stocks with correct tires. :)

Me too, that Eldo is much nicer. My uncle had a white 1972 Eldo Coupe with the red leather and Elk Grain top and sunroof. That was a car!!!

Full Agreement.

But better yet, I want that Atlantis Aqua '79 that was on ebay. Now THAT'S my kind of car.

If you "really" wanted it, anyone of us could do it. And for a whole lot less. And with whatever rims, caps, whatever you like. For those who aren't in the know, use the eBay listing as your blueprint.

Yeah he's the member "Ultra Slow" here on the forums. I dont know where he get his cars or the money for them, but they are nice. He had a '92 Brougham w/ only 600mi. on it which was on ebay for 35ish-thousand bucks, and an HT4100 Fleetwood ('85 I believe) w/ only 511mi. which was also in the same price range.

No actually those aren't swangers, They're cragars , swangers stick out a lot more. and they're being reproduced now www.texanwirewheels.com .
As for the Fleetwood it sure is nice but he'd be lucky to get half that money for it. Maybe in 20 years if he puts no miles on it he'll get 55k.

Anyone got a link to the rest of his collection? Sounds sweet.

I guess if someone had lots of money, was really busy, had no mechanical skills and I really really wanted a low-mileage 472-powered 80s Brougham, it would be a worthwhile purchase. Seller is probably smart, knowing there's gotta be somebody somewhere in the world who will pay up. Saudi prince or someone like that could just buy it on a whim.

Best part is the 8.2 Liter badges and the engine bay sticker. I love when they do that!

How about his opening line... it's my favorite car in my collection etc etc. If you're a millionnaire with all those cars and it's your favorite why are you selling??
