Hi
It's tire time for me!
So.
What was the factory whitewall and tire size for a 69 Deville?
Trying to keep as original as possible...

Check with Coker tire. I think it would be a G78. Roughly a 215 75 15...
Thanks Jay.
Coker's website says the equivalent would be a 235 75 r15.
Seems wide to me??
Anyone know the factory correct Whitewall width?
Cheers

I'm not sure but my '70 has 235 75 r15's I think, and they seem good to me.

Well, that's why I put in the G78. That car had bias plys when delivered, so 235 75 15 isn't stock. Does Coker have a listing for the stock bias ply tire?

Can't anybody help this poor guy out about the whitewall width?
Hold on, let me do some research and post back later...

thank you sir.
I've been looking at advertising pics and it seems the 1.6 inch american classic tire would look good / correct. The car has 2" WW on it currently which look good, even though I can't find them anywhere for much less than $200!
American classics are $110, anyone have any experience with 'em?
Cheers
Well found some whitewalls
GT radial Champiro 75
They are 225 75R 15 with a 1" whitewall, they look pretty good, pix on the web were not great...
Will see soon
Cheers
I just checked my data book for 68 and they did not mention anything about the width of the whitewall. Back then, the standard was a 1 inch whitewall

Here are the correct whitewalls for a '69 Cadillac. The pic is actually from the 1970 brochure, but the '69 brochure didn't have any good high-res pics. You could tell they were the same though. It's actually a twin whitewall, kind of like an all white Vogue. I thought that's what they came with, but wanted to check & find a suitable picture.
