Clean new aluminum looks so pretty. :)

Any particular reason for staying with a 5.7L instead of 6.0+?

Before going too much further, get the buffing wheel out and polish that thing! :D

Whoa, Gene, thanks for this update! Love it, so far.

What's goin' on top? An MP122?

I stayed with the 5.7 because I had already ordered custom pistons, crank and cam, then they discovered the crack in the block when they put the torque plate on.
The old Maggie is going back on till next winter, then a Procharger.
Also having EPP put sub frame connectors and a motor brace on, may also upgrade the fuel system in prep for the Procharger.
When I get it back I've got the Lingenfelter launch control and PLX boost gauge to put on.

Did you get to see it with the pan off to see the freaky tight tolerances that the crank operates in? :bonkers:

Anything done to the bottom end (main caps area) to hold boost?

Looks good, bet it sounds better.

No didn't get to see it.
No girdle, just what's listed above

I'm responsible for a number of the beer cans that were sacrificed in the making of that block..

Beautiful...

What do you plan to do for the fuel system? Is there a intank upgrade pump for the V? Also what is the Lingenfelter launch control?

Thanks

Awesome build. I'd love to go forged one day, up my compression, and do a max effort 383 N/A. Baby steps for me though. Need to finish cam first :D

Is that CAM going to be a good blower cam, isn't that a lot of overlap?

Make sure Bob sends a vid of the startup.

Probably 2 walbro pumps

Sometimes referred to as a 2-step or launch controller, the LNC-001 can be used to provide consistent launch rpm off the line in drag racing and standing start road racing applications. In turbocharged applications the use of the LNC-001 also allows the engine to build more boost off the line during the launch.

The LNC-001 can also be used as an adjustable individual cylinder rpm limiter, providing reliable and fast acting spark based engine rpm limit control. This is especially useful in vehicles that have auxiliary fuel control systems where it is not possible to make sure that both the factory ECM/PCM and the auxiliary systems both turn off fuel at exactly the same time. Ff the two don’t completely cut fuel at the same time, instead of having an RPM limiter you will likely go dangerously lean, risking severe engine damage.

"Is that CAM going to be a good blower cam, isn't that a lot of overlap?"

Cam was speced by PatrickG, should work great

Probably 2 walbro pumps

Would you mind taking some pics of this if you do it? I use 2 walbro's all the time on Syclone/Typhoons and it works great. I just was not sure how they would fit in the V's fuel bucket.

Thanks

Nolan

TCI makes a scattershield for a T-56?

Yes, contact Bob at EPP, it has to be trimmed a little I believe

Gene,
Sounds great!!! That 9.0:1 compression will allow 20+ psi, you may be looking at single-digit runs in the future:lildevil:.

Gorgeous ... just gorgeous.

Love the porting/polishing pics. Did you leave the rear pulley setup stock?

Yes it's stock

Gene,
You may want to explore the rear pulley, as my 112 saw big TQ gains after the unit was overdriven. Here are the graphs:

Before overdrive work:

After overdrive work:

I cannot find a chart from a Dec 2006 pull which was at 510/560, but as you can see the difference and there are no other mod changes than the work Magnuson did with the rear pulley.

Looks good, how much did they charge you to do that and how long did it take? PM if you like

Gene,
My tuner called in a few favors and got it done for free. I think Magnuson did the work in two days.
I think you and Bob together could figure out how to do it if the techs at Magnuson shipped the parts to you along with the instructions.

Since the first graph is Dyno Jet Corrected WP, and the Second is Standard Correction, you are actually looking at larger change than stated below.

Have you changed the clutch fluid? Mine had stuck on 3 different occasions during hard 2nd to 3rd shifts. I just got my 50K service done and clutch/tran flush and service. Seems great so far.

I dont recall who posted this originally but it should help you it sounds....
