Kael 02-05-08, 01:53 PM Part numbers: 10397645, 10385986 Installation is pretty straight forward: 1. Remove 1/3 of the rubber piece that hangs on the bottom of the bumper cover (maybe 4 clips) 2. From the plastic center shield under the engine - remove two clips closest to the side of the car you're working on (front and back, outside edge). 3. Remove fender inner shield (maybe 8 clips holding this on - 2 above the wheel, two under the car, four just inside outer edge of wheel well). 4. Unplug light harness. 5. Remove three 7mm hex head screws that hold the brake duct/drl assembly in place (2 under the bottom of the bumper, one in the outside top corner of the drl opening. 6. Remove duct/drl assembly from car. 7. Remove amber drl fixture from CTS-V brake duct assembly (remove two side clips then slide fixture backwards out of pressure clip on bottom). 8. Remove clear drl fixture from STS-V brake duct assembly and install it in the CTS-V brake duct assembly (unfortunately you can't swap the entire duct/light fixture assembly as the molded mounting brackets on the STS-V duct assembly are about .75" longer than the CTS-V's, otherwise, the entire thing is exactly the same as ours.) 9. Installation is the opposite of removal. Don't forget to reuse the old gasket between the light fixture and the bumper opening, and remember to put the tailpiece back on your brake duct before you reinstall the inner fender shield. 10. Repeat steps 1-9 on the other side of the car. 11. Sit back and admire your work. http://www.cadillacfaq.com/faq/answers/stsvfogs/1-s.jpg (http://www.cadillacfaq.com/faq/answers/stsvfogs/1.jpg) http://www.cadillacfaq.com/faq/answers/stsvfogs/2-s.jpg (http://www.cadillacfaq.com/faq/answers/stsvfogs/2.jpg) http://www.cadillacfaq.com/faq/answers/stsvfogs/3-s.jpg (http://www.cadillacfaq.com/faq/answers/stsvfogs/3.jpg) caddy1219 02-05-08, 02:07 PM Your car looks clean. I put in those part #'s and they come up Parking Turn Signal Lamp. Just want to verify before I spend $400 in parts. Thanks for all of the help HitchsCTS 02-05-08, 02:22 PM those are just STS fogs? are theyhid? Kael 02-05-08, 02:34 PM Those fogs are off of the STS-V, while the normal STS has HID fogs the STS-V does not. The STS-V fogs are exactly like those on the CTS except that they are clear where the CTS has amber. There is another much cheaper option that was pioneered here a while ago. You can heat and remove the stock lenses from the CTS foglights and replace them with clear plastic (lexan, poycarbonate, whatever) and it still looks pretty clean. Someone should chime in if they have any spare lense left but if not it looks like "someone" might make new ones. -K oh and thanks, but thats not my car. I have a normal CTS, not a V HitchsCTS 02-05-08, 02:44 PM I kinda like the STS-V fogs better then the super duper clear ones that WW makes. They really run 400 a pop? Why would the V not have hids but the sts does? :rant2: caddy1219 02-05-08, 02:51 PM The STS-V are the clear ones. they are 135.82 for the STS-V ones and 135.82 for the CTS-V and with shipping it comes up to $400.00 Kael 02-05-08, 02:51 PM The STS has foglights that are as tall as the ones on the SRX and hence have enough room to house a HID, the STS-V's are shorter to fit the brake duct and GM probably wanted to keep costs down. caddy1219 02-05-08, 03:30 PM I like the super clear ones they look clean. Kael thanks for the info now I have to purchase all that stuff to make this work. Did you do the same on your car or did you go with the smoke tint Kael 02-05-08, 04:08 PM kind of a funny sad story on that one. I destroyed more than a few sets of foglight housings finding out at what temp the lenses came off most easily with the least chance of breaking the housing. A little heat and a plastic putty knife go a long way. I figured it out, and was gearing up to make a run of lenses so I could recoup my costs but WW beat me to the punch, hard to compete with a guy that has access to a laser cutter. My fault, I shouldn't have said anything. Anywho because of this I was out the cash I needed to buy any lenses for myself. So I still have the stockers. Yeah. kill me. Lifes funny that way sometimes. caddy1219 02-05-08, 04:28 PM Does WW sell the whole housing ready to go or what? SvB4EvA 02-05-08, 04:30 PM I just used clear saran wrap. :bling: http://a791.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/4/l_714f13f289dcc45f370a1ad221c6403e.jpg mprest99 02-05-08, 08:29 PM WW is not selling anything any longer. He said he was done. What he was selling was just a replacement for the 2 tone clear/orange cover that comes on the lights with a totally clear one. You have to remove your light, remove the factory lens on the front and then install the new one. I have done the corners already and will do the fog lights this weekend. If you do a search and find the original post which was right before WW started making them, it tells you what you need to and how to install everything. You are talking about less than $50 for everything though... caddy1219 02-05-08, 09:06 PM mprest 99 where did you get your clear corners from, I am putting in new HID headlights in and now I am going to do the fogs and I want to do the clear corners since I am going to have the bumper off. mprest99 02-05-08, 09:19 PM I got mine from WW a while back when he was still making them.... SvB4EvA 02-05-08, 09:32 PM Yea, most of us got our side markers and fogs from WW. He can't make them any more tho. You can always make your own! Do a search, its out there... caddy1219 02-05-08, 10:24 PM Yeah I will keep looking. Black'Lac 02-06-08, 01:25 AM I made my own clear fog lens... Its easy. I took out the foglight housings and seperated the factory lens. Then I bought a sheet of lexan from home depot and traced the shape of the factory lens. After that is was just a matter of cutting out the new lens and installing them on to the housing. xocomaox 02-06-08, 10:12 AM You can get away with cutting your own because the bumper will hide the edges that won't show. Don't need a laster cutter. Sidemarkers.. a different story. | |
