I have the Bose system in my 03 CTS and my back 2 speakers sound distorted and blown.

Should i invest in replacing them with better name brand speakers or do i have to replace them with the exact same bose speakers in order to keep just the right surround sound they offer?

Any warranty left on the car?

If not... I would replace all the speakers. Once a couple go, they might all start going... It would be nice to just get all new ones instead of replacing just 2.

no warranty left.
So if i do replace them all, you think i should go with better name brand speakers or get the bose again.
Mind you i have 2, 12" Fosgates thats added.
Because when i had my subs put in the whole inside of the car sounded so balanced, like i mean perfect.
Good in the front, good in the back and deep bass from the subs.
So i wanna make sure i have that same balance in my system.
Now i dont know if its because of the bose speakers that actually do that.

What's the size of the blown speakers?

Bose actually suck in comparison to even the cheapest speakers on the market....BUT, the biggest thing that makes them sound so good is they are matched to the amp in the car as far as power and all that goes....So in order for aftermarket speakers to sound better, you will need a better amp, the bose amp is great, but only for bose speakers that are matched for the low power output....aftermarket speakers require alot more power and the bose amp wont cut it ;)

Oh ok.
Well i just got a Alpine MRP M850 amp to run my subs off so im sure it will do the job.
So i should just buy better namebrand speakers huh?
and the ones in the doors are what 6 x 5.5 in size?
thanks bro

The Bose speakers are 2 Ohm, not 4 Ohm like most aftermarket speakers (and the non-Bose speakers). Many of the V guys and several of our members have gone to Infinity Kappa's. Not cheap (~$250/pr), but very nice and they're 2 Ohm impedance. Fronts are 6.5", rears are 5.25". 94 dB sensitivity means they put out much more sound with the same input. (3dB is a doubling of sound). The tweeters are separate, so you can install them in your A-pillar behind the Bose emblem.

How hard is it to trade out the door speakers?

I never like the idea of takin the door panels off.. they never seem to go on right again.. Its been awhile since i've messed with door panels and am not familiar w/ the Caddy's, but i'd invest in a panel remover tool!

The biggest problem I had removing my door panels a few weeks ago was not pulling hard enough. When I finally gave 'em a hard yank, they came right off. Although one of the yellow fasteners seemed to break on every single door.
