hey guys, I hit a pothole friday night and bent and cracked one of my stocker rims.
its the 17 inch with a center cap, polished.

anyone have a bead on one of or even a set of these?

the bend and crack is not so bad that i can not drive on it, but of course now it looks like crap after I hammered the lip and edge back down.

so yeah, anyone willing to part with theirs let me know.

and I am still looking for stock rocker panels, preferably in black
(i only NEED the drivers side rear one)

Yeah, I have a set of 4 w/ used tires but I think they are 16's. I only had them for a couple weeks before I bought new wheels. I'll have to double check the size

hold tight,Bro.. I have the exact rim you need..I bent a Chrome one & was told it was polished alum, so I bought it...wrong...it was a chrome one. I'm trying to work a deal with the store that I bought it from, but I may end up buying it straight out, and selling this one. it's in excellent shape of an '03 CTS....

if you hit a pothole, you can claim it to your city/town hall and because it was negligence on their part for not keeping the streets in good working order, then they have to pay. It happened to me before.

good luck

How long did they take though?

hey flip, it was a massive hole in I-88 in the left hand lane. I hit it doing maybe 60 mph. and man.. it was a hell of a jolt.

and how the hell do I charge the city for it?

sucks kael, i don't know the specifics, but I too have heard that you can hold local governments responsible for vehicle damage caused by pot holes & such, they probably have insurance to cover it. If I were you I'd document everything and snap a picture of the hole you hit.

I think the way it works is if the pothole was reported by someone, but not yet fixed, they may be liable. If no one reported it yet and they didn't know it existed, you may be out of luck.

sorry man, there is simply no interest. no one wants anything anymore.
I already invented a few mods only to have someone else take credit for one and another made someone else a good amount of money... but it seems Karma played a hand.

I was interested in working with BIG3 to make a solid nitrous kit and tune for the cts but I am doubting there would be much interest.

My cousin once hit a mega pothole here in NYC (they are sometimes hard to miss). He actually got a pretty quick compensation payment from the city for his wheel and tire.

I also have no idea how/who/ or where to ask for compensation.

Where in Illinois did it happen?

If in Chicago....your not gonna get anywhere.....the City gets sued everyday and suits get thrown out....

Also....have you ever heard of someone getting paid on a situation like this? never.....

As long as your city/town had notice of the pothole. Im not exactly sure how easy it is to get paid through this process.

I think I did the same thing my rim was cracked in two places. Luckily I had a set of rims off of a 95 SLS to throw on for now. I did by the replacement rim from ebay for 150.00 shipped.

no sir, not chrome... but(as I found out yesterday from DetroitWheels) this ones' not polished either...it's brushed..the rarest of all 3 according to them. my wheels I thought were chrome, are polished, and this one is nowhere close to polished after side-by-side comparison. I just bought a polished off Ebay for $215... this one probably isn't what you want...why did Caddies offer 3 diff wheels in 03,I'll never understand that move, but according to them they did. so I've put this one up for auction to try to recoup my loss....:cookoo:

Looks like I got a pretty good deal at 150.00 for my wheel on ebay. They have it listed at 325.00 and my local junkyard wanted 350.00
