OK, this is wierd.
I took the car (CTS) in for a nice polish job, and now, when I take the key out the rear windows both go all the way down. Why?
I have looked up and down the personalization menu, read through the whole users manual, and there does not seem to be a setting for this.
So are there any ideas what the heck happened to the car, as to why it would do this? Or, more importantly, are there any ideas how to correct it?
I sure hope I don't have to go to the dealer for this. That would really be a bugger.
Thanks!
Wes

It sounds like your battery died during the polishing job:cool2:, hence the issue!

:duck:
actually it would be cooler if the windows went up after you remove the key

Actually I think some cars and aftermarket keyless systems do roll all the windows up when you lock the car (Not when the key is taken out).
I don't know the names but if anyone does please drop a line because like chico said, this would be cool, especially in the summer.
My 1998 Honda Accord used to do that as long as no door was opened you could power the windows up or down for a couple minutes after removing the key from the ignition. God Bless, Joe

didnt old Jetta or passat use to do that??
I just remeber the add they showed couple of years back
I can't thank you enough guys, it worked!
I unplugged the battery for a minute and after reconnecting it, it worked correctly.
I thought about doing that in the first place, bit I was afraid I would lose all of my personalizations. When I first checked it it looked like I did, but the battery was just (almost) dead so it acted that way. I charged it back up (hence my delay in getting back to you) and all of the presets, etc. are still there.
It was really weird, 'cause I'm thinkin' "Why on earth would it do that? What setting could possibly direct that?" Then I started to think that maybe it had to do with the child lock in the back seat. You know, don't want to roast the little guys in there with the windows all the way up. But of course it wasn't that.
I must have had the security system set to "steal me"....hehe.....windows down as soon as you leave the car. ;)
Again, thanks a lot. Sure a lot better to have solved it this way than to have to go to the dealer.
Cheers!
Wes
