Hello folks... as a member of other forums, I know that specific forums are the place to ask those in the know... I need a knowledgeable answer... I bought an 03 CTS that had chrome 17" CTS wheels, one is bent...when I went to find another, I was told numerous times, that CTS never put chrome OEM..that they had to be High Polished Alloy.......ok, so I bought what was advised off Ebay as the wheel I needed, and when I went to mount it...it was a no-go. HUGE difference...looked the same design wise, but side by side it was very obvious... are the chrome wheels "custom" or what?
Thanks for your time on this.. ButchE

I would have to assume that the 2003 CTS is available with chrome wheels because the service manual for the 2003 CTS covers chrome repair on factory wheels. It has the two options, one for chrome repair, or one for the alloy wheel repair. I'm trying to find a more definite answer for you though for an actual wheel.

EDIT: There are two 17" wheels available, one has the code qf7 and the other is n93 . Remove your spare tire cover and look at the build sticker under it. See which code you have. Once you have that, you will know which wheel you will need.

Hope this helps you out!

the dealer should be able to find part numbers for the chrome wheels if they know you hvae the N93 (chrome) wheels. That is if they know what they're doing. ;)

the cheapest I've found is $225 + shipping.... and that's the company that sold me the alloy(saying that Chromes were never OEM  ) I'm gonna try to work a swap, but I'll have almost $100 in shipping(overall)...:banghead:

well, after talking to the dealer here, they put THREE different wheels on the 03s... brushed/polished/chrome(rare..special order).. mine turns out to be high polished(REAL close to chrome in appearance). I've located several in thye 225 range...but that's better than dealer price +500.... I wanna thank those good folks who offered suggestions...you make this forum what it is...a fine one!!!

Great to hear that you got things sorted out. For what ever it's worth I did a bit of digging and according to GM the 17" rim for the majority of 03's was unique to that year it was polished and was only available on the CTS Sport with the "Preferred Equipment Group" option. I say majority because some that where built close to 04 ended up with the restyled 04 17" rim. If your spokes look as if someone pinched them in the middle section of the spoke and your lug nuts are visable then you have the 03 rim, if the spoke is straight and there is a cap covering the lug nuts, then they are 04.
