:helpless:I tried posting this on the Paint thread but I got no replies, so I'll just try it here.
I hope I'm on the right forum to ask this question, this is my first time posting here. I have a car other than my Caddy that the previous owner tells me that it is painted with a Cadillac color called Eggplant Purple, but he can't remember the year or model of Cadillac that the paint is for. I'm hoping someone here can give me a paint code for that color, I mainly need the paint for rock chips repair.
Thanks for any help.
John

I saw that you checked the "Paint Color Names" thread. Did you check this one? There's samples!
http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/rwd-19xx-1984-deville-fleetwood-1985/116428-online-resource-found-all-paint-names.html
Here's the actual link, from '55 and up:
http://www.cadillac.extra.hu/szinkodok/55-paint.htm
And here's the colors for 1989
http://www.cadillac.extra.hu/szinkodok/89-paint.htm
In all, I'd say you have "Dark Garnet Red Metallic Clearcoat" with code 76/WA8984.
Good luck!

Hi Greg,
Yes, I have already looked through all of the samples before I reposted my question and couldn't find Eggplant Purple, but I was hoping that maybe they just were not showing the Eggplant Purple color code, although after having owned different model Cadillacs for quite a few years, just having a color named as Eggplant Purple didn't seem to fit the norm for Cadillac paint color names.:(
Thanks anyway,
John
