Have you tried Simcity 4 and its expansion pack yet? It is a huge improvement over SC3K. My_favorite_Brougham 01-30-08, 04:51 AM 2000 was the best version ever, and I played it forever. Those faces were all to familar!! lmao I~LUV~Caddys8792 01-30-08, 11:50 AM Have you tried Simcity 4 and its expansion pack yet? It is a huge improvement over SC3K.
No....where can I buy it and how many dineros do I have to spend to get it? Been looking to download Sim City 2000 since you put this damned thread up. Can't seem to find it for free ANYWHERE anymore. A couple of years back I found it and Pirates Gold!, but now I can't find either! My_favorite_Brougham 01-30-08, 01:17 PM Spyder, I downloaded it free a while ago, and I still have the ZIP file. I'll put it on rapidshare and give you a link later tonight, as it's on my home computer. Sweet. Don't know what rapidshare is though...but sweet! My_favorite_Brougham 01-30-08, 03:12 PM It's a place where you upload stuff. Like Photobucket for files. I'll pm you the link. eldorado99 01-30-08, 04:03 PM Been looking to download Sim City 2000 since you put this damned thread up. Can't seem to find it for free ANYWHERE anymore. Thats too bad, I've got both of those games here in my house somewhere. Pirates! Gold doesn't work very well in Windows XP though, although DosBox helps. eldorado99 01-30-08, 04:06 PM No....where can I buy it and how many dineros do I have to spend to get it?
I'm sure it's at your local BestBuy or other computer/video game type store. Just buy Simcity 4 Deluxe edition, (It's been out for a while (probably 4 years) so its bound to be cheap) and it comes with the expansion pack called "Rush Hour", which adds numerous types of transportation options to the game which do make it better. All in all though, Simcity 4 is a huge improvement over 3000, I'm sure you will love it. I think I might fire it up in a minute here actually. eldorado99 01-30-08, 04:11 PM By the way: http://www.abandonia.com/en/games/134/Pirates+Gold.html
This site has lots of cool old games. I tried SC4 but didnt enjoy it. It stopped being about resource management and focused too much on frilly stuff. My_favorite_Brougham 01-31-08, 01:15 AM Alright, I uploaded my copy of "SimCity 2000 Special Edition" to a link for download. It's gonna pull up a page with price options; just click "FREE" at the bottom of the right column. Then you'll have to wait for about a minute; then enter a a code to make sure you're not a robot. It should download after that.
It's a zip file, so once you open it, you'll have to uncompress it. I think computers do it automatically now. Then just start clicking install files until one of them works! ..lol
I got this from a game site a long time ago, and it was free, so you can have it too:

Greg You guys played Pirates Gold?!?! I absolutely played the hell out of this game on my Genesis as a kid... the Uncharted Waters series are MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH better, best games ever developed in my opinion. Goddamned son of uh... ... ...CRAP!
Just spent two hours getting my city all set up bad ass-like and the damned thing crashes. Hadn't saved it, of course.
SHIT. eldorado99 01-31-08, 05:42 AM Try running the sc2k.exe in compatibility mode, it might help. Worth a shot since it takes 2 seconds to set it up.
In case you've never done it: Right click on the .exe file in the install folder, go to properties, compatibility tab, set it to Windows 98 or something, see how she goes. Hopefully it wont crash then. I found and downloaded Pirates Gold! and played the SOB until three thirty in the morning. I thought it was somewhere around midnight.
I got the Sega Genesis version, I think, converted over to the computer because the graphics are quite a bit different and when you go into a town you walk around instead of just point and click and the controls I'm still trying to figure out what buttons do what...but I'm starting to get the hang of it.
Next on the list: Betrayal at Krondor!!! I~LUV~Caddys8792 01-31-08, 05:54 PM The one thing I never liked about Sim City was the complete lack of pornograpy, sexual imagery and nudity. Where are all the strip bars, porn shops and bordellos? It's not very realistic without those! Gotta run two screens. One for Sim City and one for Leisure Suit Larry...
