My 88 will start up fine, but after about 20-25 minutes, the car is ready to die. When it does, I need to stick a screwdriver in the carb (which has a small amount of smoke coming out of it) in order to get it to restart. On top of that, the radiator seems to be gurgling and the antifreeze level rises. Is it the carburetor or thermostat? Thanks.

:( Sorry to say, but it could be the cylinderhead gasket! It will explain the bubbles in the radiator and it could cause the engine to stall if the coolant will leak into the cylinder :suspense:

Convcruiser - Thanks for replying to me, though I wish the answer was a better one than that.
