Hey all! My interior lights don't come on any more when I open a door. The little lights in the flip-down mirrors don't work, neither do the power mirrors. All the fuses are good, any suggestions?

Bad ground is the cause of most electrical failures. Get out your $4 harbor freight dmm and check the voltage drop from the ground side of the components to a known good ground when you hit the switch. If it reads higher than 1-3 volts, you've got bad grounds.

I think its a fuse. How did you verify all are good? I've had the wire going to a vanity mirror short as the sun visor was rotated. Look carefully where the wire goes into each visor.

Do the power door locks & radio work? If not then it is the fuse.

Look for the fuse marked BODY or ROOM usually a yellow 20 amp fuse as being blown. also check for tin foil, nickels, dimes in cigarette lighter sockets as the cause.

Got it. It was the fuse. I didn't look closely enough at the fuse the first time, it wasn't broken in the middle, but on one side so I didn't see it. Thanks for the suggestions everyone!

Now, why did it blow? fuses rarely fail on their own. The best way to test a fuse is with a test light not visually. Thats why the new fuses have access to metal contacts at the top of the fuse.

That's the question I don't know. It hasn't blown since I bought the car over 3 years ago. I'll be watching to see if it blows again anytime soon.
