View Full Version : Guess this car. gothicaleigh 01-27-08, 01:41 PM Think you know cars?
What car/truck did this busted tail lamp come from?

This one looks like it has red stripes through the backup lamps (I had thought maybe Chrysler/Dodge at first, but can't find anything that matches). gothicaleigh 01-27-08, 02:13 PM Here's the original post by the present "owner" of the mysterious fragment:
A night club *just* opened at the bottom of my building in downtown Bellevue, and it has turned the parking garage into a complete ZOO at night. ...with all kinds of drunk coked up whores trying to fit their H2s in spots that were designed for golf carts.
ANYWAY I'm heading out at 3AM and run over this odd shattered tail light. I got out and you could tell someone backed into the concrete post so hard that pieces of the tail light were STUCK IN THE CONCRETE! This was the only large piece left.
So my friend and I have been going crazy trying to figure out what kind of car it was. I mean just for the hell of it. It shouldn't be hard to figure out. We've been carrying it around comparing it to every car we see.... We've scoured eBay Motors... WE CANT FIGURE IT OUT!....
We think its an early to mid '90s car due to the somewhat dated texture design. Its heavily swirled. It would seem that the car was designed such that the tail light stuck out as far as the back bumper, as there was no visible bumper mark on the post. At the bottom left corner the light starts curving inward....Very odd.
Two backup lights.
There appear to be red stripes through them.
Looks like a sharp back corner where the lamp bends around the vehicle.
Toyota was suggested, but still can not find one that matches real well... I~LUV~Caddys8792 01-27-08, 02:30 PM Early '00's Camry? I want to say it's from a Mitsubishi gothicaleigh 01-27-08, 05:26 PM I want to say it's from a Mitsubishi
...and you would be right:
2004 Mitsubishi Galant (passenger side tail)

They figured it out on BF.C
Fun though. Who else has an exterior body piece we can try and guess? :D Fun though. Who else has an exterior body piece we can try and guess? :D
You first, and I want to pick the part :D
:postpics: Wow, I never would have guessed a Galant, and I even spent a week driving one! TexasCadillac 01-30-08, 01:03 AM Matlock would go the the Mitsubishi parts dept and ask if they sold a 2004 Galant lens lately and who bought it. Only works in small towns. LOL Unless they replaced it with an aftermarket lens. TexasCadillac Playdrv4me 01-30-08, 03:53 AM That lens is awfully weathered for being that new gothicaleigh 04-09-08, 10:23 PM Round 2 of Guess That Car! :D

Vette? hueterm 04-09-08, 10:30 PM The bottom of the tach says "...onio" -- and with that much chrome and a steering column w/that much chrome and that slender, it doesn't look new. Also, the wheel doesn't look like it has an airbag. I dunno, it looks fairly new to me, I spy tire pressure monitoring down in the right corner with the green numbers. Well it looks like a new car. It has tire pressure monitors and the tach looks like it says tiptronic. It has a stitched dash like the new CTS.
Challenger? hueterm 04-09-08, 10:38 PM Yeah, that has to be a TPMS... It has an 8000rpm redline so Im now thinking some kind of tuner car. The Tony Show 04-09-08, 11:13 PM Looks like a Pagani Zonda F to me.

I thought so too, but this is the Zonda F. Spyker also came to mind.

I googled both and discovered that I fail miserably, but only weenies edit their posts when they're wrong. :D Playdrv4me 04-10-08, 12:05 AM I guess the main thing I want to know is whether this is a regular production car or not. This thing has a 220mph speedometer, I just went through about 15 of the fastest cars produced and this dash isn't on any of them. I~LUV~Caddys8792 04-10-08, 12:25 AM 1989 Yugo.

It will be a limited production car. I didn't know what it was when I saw the pic and probably would not have used it had I known the car was so rare at the time.
The bottom of the tach says "...onio"
"...ONIC" actually... probably the best clue there was from the pic provided.
Shelby?
Close.

Again, I apologize for using this car. I thought it was something else when I posted it.
I'll give it another day and if no one guesses it, I'll find something a bit more fair to use.
