Can the engine cover be removed without removing the strut tower brace? How? It seems that insofar as the top is concerned I might be able to slide it forward under the brace, but there is too much interference on the sides.

You have to remove the crossbeam to get the cover off, it is too big to remove without taking it off.
If you remove the brace, be sure to keep an eye on the washers, there should be one flatwasher under the nut on each side.

Figured as much. Don't suppose you happen have to torque specs for the crossbeam mounting bolts handy? Those specs are not in the owners manual. I'd hate to have to start an Alldata subscription for a vehicle that only has 7500 miles on it, just to get the torque specs. And I'd hate to remove and remount the beam without knowing what the correct torque is.

BTW, its great to have somebody with your knowledge and ability here.
