Lately my car has been making this annoying whining or howling noise that I can only hear in the cabin. It is very high pitched. It is noticeable at idle and acceleration and it's at its loudest when the car is cold. I haven't really noticed any patterns but by the time I get the car up to about 50 MPH you can't hear the noise. It also seems to "ascend" as I accelerate, even if I barely tap the gas it gets higher in pitch. I'm damn near sure it's coming from the right side of the engine bay.

The car doesn't leak, it's not running any codes, the tires are all balanced, I really have no idea what it is and I'm just sick of it.

At least it's not a head gasket.

It may be one of the accessory bearings. Check the idler & tensioner first. They seem to be the most common.

:yeah: and after that check the alternator bearings.

I would also check the AC compressor

My 93 was doing something similar and after I changed the serpentine belt it went a way.
