I replaced my engine in a 97 Seville STS. I am missing one connection that goes to a white an blue female connection. The connection is under the master cylinder. Can anyone tell what is suppose to go there? Everything else is done.

is it a two wire?
is it just like the one on the right side near the strut tower and heater hoses?
if it is not a two wire how many terminals can it take and how many does it have?

I'll look. Was thinking it may be that and the connection fell down somewhere. Replaced the engine going through the top. Not that bad. A lot faster if I would need to do it again.
let me get this correct you pulled the north star up? if so how did u do that?

Pulled radiator, ac condensor, intake, Exhaust y pipe, disconnect torque converter, remove transmission bellhousing bolts, etc.
Not that bad, just takes time the first time. A lot quicker if I needed to do it again. The hardest part was removing all the brackets on the rightside of the engine to the transmission. Need a cherry picker and good lifting devise to balance engine.

and you pulled the hood too id assume correct?
it seems easier to drop it from the bottom the other reason i have not done mine because it been cold out and i dont have a garage to do it in and i was told if i used a cherry picker to lift the body it will bend... i dont not if that true but w/e

Yes, I pulled the hood also. I work in a garage that will get down to about 40 degrees. Turn on a tv or radio and it's actually pretty comfortable. Just started the thing and this engine has the same head gasket issue! The engine was pulled out of totalled DTS. Back the the wrenching. Already have the headsert tools. Will be a lot quicker this time around. I have attached a pdf with how to remove from the top.
DTS started in 2000 and had the new design Northstar with roller followers - yours is a '97 - older design - I thought that was a problem, no?

are you saying you timeserted your previous engine, then had to get a new engine after you had already done the hg job on your first one?

I quickly perused the engine rebuild pdf and noticed it is to a '95 'Y' engine; mine is a '99 '9' engine (300hp). Are the procedures outlined compatible? Does this look like an acceptable way to remove the engine? With my garage configuration (small, two-car with single-car overhead doors and exactly 20' deep and 9' wide each bay...ugh!!!) it may be the wiser choice. I simply don't have the working room around the car to remove the engine underneath with cradle and all...
2nd question; with the hood off and the radiator, accessories, etc. disassembled and out of the way is there any way the engine could be timeserted while still mounted in the engine bay (without complete removal of the engine)? Seems to me that if there is a way to timesert it while the car still 'holds' the engine in place and without the complete removal that would be ideal, however, I do understand everybody is dropping (or in 442JoeRed's case lifting) the engine for this work.
Last question: 442JoeRed, your screen name sound Oldsmobilean to me...if so, I have an '85 Olds 307 that I am about to replace with a '79 TransAm Olds 403...any suggestions? (I know this is a Cadillac post...) I am wondering what headers would work or are available to work in a 2dr Delta 88 Royale Brougham platform with the 403 at the very least; plus I need a dual exhaust crossmember from a pre-'75 model to modify and fit to the '85.

I'll take an educated guess and advise that it's the connection to the hood.
