I just bought a 99 sts and I am new to this forum so sorry if this question is in the wrong spot.

Anyway, I have the Bose 4.0 system and I am really happy with it. However, I could use a little more bass in the 20-70 hz region. At first, I planned on adding two 12" sony p5s with the newer sony 1200 watt amp (XM2200GTX) that has signal sensing turn on so I wouldn't have to run a remote turn on wire. I was just going to run an audio signal from the existing subwoofer speaker wires to the high level inputs on the amp, but I heard that the Bose amp was very sensitive to the slight impedance change this would cause and may cause premature amp failure. Apparently, a separate high to low level converter is better for the factory amp than running the speaker signal directly into the sony's high level inputs. Is this true?

Also, does the factory subwoofer receive a signal with a subsonic filter? If so, I would have to tap into an unfiltered signal to get the low bass I'm looking for, which I'm trying to avoid. I'm trying to keep the setup as simple as possible so I can easily remove it for autocross and when I need more trunk space.
