While washing off the road grime, I noticed that the word (name?) "Austin" appears at the end of pinstripe on the right rear of the trunk lid. The pinstripe is clealy tape, so I can't imagine it is aftermarket. What's the significance of this name/word?

Just went to double check mine. I have no pinstriping on the trunk, just down the sides, and no "austin"

I have never seen pinstriping on a STS-v. Must be a dealer added thing.

My silver STS-V has very narrow double pinstiping (one white, one black) on both sides of the hood buldge, on the sides, and across the trunk under the spoiler. Guess it was an aftermaket add-on by the previous owner after all.

My car didn't have an individual previous owner, unless you want to call GM Detroit that. :D I'm assuming dealership add ons in some cases.
