Is there a way to play a movie in the DVD nav unit in-dash in my '05 EXT? Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes there is.. Do a search on Nav Tv. You can find that on ebay. Its an adapter that you hook up to your stock navigation system and will let you connect a dvd player to it.

Thanks for the response but part of me thinks there has to be a software solution as it is a DVD based nav system. I know it's different then my CTSV but from a high level it's the same. DVD player for the mapping software should be able to be hacked to play a DVD.

You will need to get a dvd player. Some people will remove the 6 disc changer and replace it with the indash dvd player. Its all up to you. Or get one and put it under the seat..
