So I have purchased my 5th caddy this week cheap,:emocide: hoping to use the parts of my beat gray deville. Now here is what I suffered on the drive back. First off, the speedo does not work, only occassionaly jumping up. Here is the next thing, you drive down the road then the vehical slips into neutral or suddenly engages on 2nd or 3rd.:wtf2: There is also this whine you hear comming from the central console of the car. Basically she is driving like a bucking bronco. the anti-lock light is also on. The one code I could cough up was code E25. No BCM codes. Lastly, in order to make the car driveable so I could get it home, I pulled the ERLS fuse to disable to automatic transmission and found the tranny was not slipping gears but staying solid on 2nd and 3rd, but it sucks losing overdrive and first. What do you folks think is going on. Bad speed sensor, bad computer? Bad tranny? And Yes, Fluid is normal.:hmm:

Sounds like the VSS Vehicle Speed Sensor is bad. It is located on the passenger side of the transmission. It can be accessed through the wheel well. My VSS sensor was bad also but I cleaned it up and put it back in and everything returned to normal. They get full of junk in them because they're magnetic.

Thank you for responding. I sure hope it is just speed sensor and not something more major. I also have a water pump to change, but is straighfowards.....sort of.....its my third wp change so I know the drill.

It sounds like it 's low on fluid. If you lose 1st and 4th then it could be the fuse.
