98 sts. yesterday in my driveway, i go in my car to switch cars in my driveways. i push on the brake and it goes all the way down. makes like a air pressing noise?:hmm:. i get out and look and a big brake fluid is on my driveway. i dont know if its one line or what. i turn the car off and try to pump the brake it gets a bit harder but i can still push it all the way down. how much you think it is to fix and everything??

Exactly where and under what was the puddle of fluid? That will give you an idea of whether you're in the steel line replacement mode (PITA) or a flex hose to an individual caliper (messy but simple and cheap). Or even a blown caliper puck, not too difficult but $50 +/-.

I also have a 97 STS and my brake line rub a hole in it. I called GM and told them but they said they would not do anything about it. It is a safety issue and I think they should stand behind it, it is a design problem.

There are two porportioning valves one on each rear line. I have had mine dump all the fluid in a few days. Note also that the dual master cylinder is connected crossways: ie. left front and right rear on one, etc.
