These are the colors offered for the 09 cts. Who knows what GM will offer in the "V" series. I think the black cherry with cashmere looks interesting. We can rest assure that black raven and crystal red will be on the option list. Seems like we've seen alot of thunder grey in the spy photos so that will be avalible. That doesn't leave much left if they go with four choices. What do you think?

Those are the current colors for the 2008 CTS, not the 2009 like stated in the opening thread, right? Sunset Blue has already been discontinued from the 08 ordering guide as well as a couple others and they show up on the chart. Also, I cant quite make it out, what does the footnote by Hot Lava say?

So, what colors does everything we will really get? Tony, D3 or anyone else who has the GM insider connections?

It hasn't been decided yet. You can count on White Diamond, Black Raven and Light Platinum, but the rest are still up in the air. The show car making the rounds is a special variant of Thunder Gray Chromaflair with about 3x the normal Chromaflair additive in it. The folks I talked to at NAIAS said they're debating making it a production color, but no final word yet.

Is there any other choice than black?

Why?

I'm with Kadonny, we need Hot Lava! Hot and exciting color, I just sold my similar 2003 Copper Sunburst 5-Speed to get a 2008 or 2009, if it wasn't for Copper Sunburst I wouldn't have bought my 2003. Altogether, I think the 2008 has borring colors, and the chromoflair colors look good in some lights, bad or bland in other lights. This is an exciting car, it needs exciting colors, and as far as the V, well, can it get anymore exciting than that?! I just hope the V doesn't force you to get only the black trim, or the shiny black console trim in place of the silver. The Cashmere and Cocoa look so luxurious and rich and natural, and the 2 tone nature of the combination adds to the detail of the eye candy.

Thanks Tony. I would think if they plan on selling more units (because of the automatic) that they would give a larger color choice. Guess we'll see.

I will make a prediction here and now.

When the final 2009 CTSV sales and production numbers are finalized; 70% or better of all 2009 CTSV's will be the 6 speed automatics with paddle shifters.

Between 21 and 23% of all units produced will be Raven Black if GM offers the identical color line up in the CTSV as they do in the CTS series.

Too bad they didnt let cusotmers pick the interior color instead of forcing the black interiorw/o a good justification. I have been wanting one in hot lava since i saw the original promo pics, but in my opinion the black interior is so monotone plain and cold compared to the rich and natural looking 2-tone cahsmere/cocoa that shoudl have been avaialable. The cashmere shows off the luxury stitching better as well becasue leather is thought of as a natural brown or tan colored. I might get in anyway but not sure because i spend more time inside the car than looking at it from the outside and i might just wait for some other cool or exciting color for the 09's that will allow the cashmere. GM always manages to mess something up for silly reasons. Were you allowed to get the upgrade to the poliched wheels??? The dealer in my area said they arent allowed to upgrade the wheels with the lava package

Well, you can count me in for the auto with paddle. I have Black Raven now on my STS-V, if no other color stands out to me I would have no problem ordering another Raven.

I talked to an Engineer at LGR yesterday who had the opportunity to see a "Product and Process Evaluation" car (basically a final production unit for testing) in the White Diamond, and he said the car was stunning in that color.

My guesses are still Black Raven, Light Platinum, Thunder Gray, Crystal Red and White Diamond, but we shall see.

As much as I love the White Diamond -- and, I'll admit, it does indeed look pretty darn good! -- I'm finding it hard to visualize it on a muscular hunky he-man car like a 550 hp CTS-V and still be taken seriously. It's just not manly. Okay, I'm gonna say it ... it's GHEY! There, I said it!

No, my decision is going to be between Raven Black and Thunder Gray. Now, those are two colors that'd let me walk into any men's room and no amount of footsie wiggling crap going on in the next stall is gonna make me flinch 'cause I'd be secure in my man-ness. Yessiree, those are MAN colors! :dumbbells:

I am not quite sure of the actual name of the color; but the gray metallic exterior color and ebony leather interior that has been featured on some of the Corvette ZR1 media photos is outstanding looking.

I would choose this color due to its metallic tintcoat for my CTSV versus the standard 5 year old Raven Black offering.

Which brings me to my next point; when will Cadillac finally introduce the Black Diamond metallic tintcoat that they first featured on the Cadillac SRX Sport concept vehicle that debuted at the auto show in 2005?

Perhaps someone in the know has some firsthand knowledge why Cadillac does not have a metallic black 3 stage exterior premium color in the portfolio?

What are the chances that Blue Chip will be offered? Ill settle for Chromaflair or Black on my V...but I really want a Blue Chip w/ Black interior.

The only choices with the HotLava special edition was spare tire? and AWD. That was it otherwise it was all set. Although the pricing wasn't bad since they made it such limited choices it ended up being cheaper than if you picked all the options on another color car

They actually do- it's been offered on the DTS for the last few months under the name "Black Ice". It's not shown on the Web Site since it's a limited time "special" color.

Looks pretty good in person, but I'm so unused to seeing Metallic Black that at first glance it looked like a Black car with overspray on it.

I like white cars so much I was thinking about a repaint on my '04 CTS-V. Now I'll just wait for an '09 and be done with it.
