It's possible to put the big caddy engines into just about anything. That's what a lot of us on the site are up to. It's a big job but there are swap kits available for mounts and tranny adapters. What tranny is in the car?

There is no transmission in the car jet, but I have got a TH400 for spare.

If that TH400 is from a Caddy, it will bolt right up.Chevy has different bolt pattern, but most Chevys use TH350 anyway.

It IS possible. I am in the middle of performing this install on my 1959 Caddy. The only major stuff here is the exhaust manifold clearance, rear sump oil pan, driveshaft length, and motor mounts. So far nothing is a simple bolt-in:banghead: , but what is nowadays? :suspect:

I am in the middle of this swap now and would be interested in exchanging pictures and information with others doing the same. The single biggest problem so far has been modifying the front crossmember for clearance; especialy for the oil pump. I have ordered a remote oil filter kit from MTS but I still had to do a lot of cutting and welding. I am using a 500 CID enigine and TH400 transmission from a 1974 Calis. The transmission is a lot longer but you can have the tailshaft housing swapped out for a short one from a Chevy and it will be the same.
