For christmas I had a "Cool Start" brand remote start installed on our 04' srx now every time we start it with the remote start and drive away using that way to start it approx 24min later the radio locks out and the traction control light comes on, I brought it back to the "professional" (so he says) that installed it and he told me that to go around this we need to turn car off and start it with the key to avoid this. Come on.... there has to be some way not to do this everytime we use the remote start, where did this guy go wrong on the install, anyone who could help me this issue I would apperciate it i have a ford box truck that starts fine with the remote you would think this senairo would be reversed. Thanks in advance for your help!

Any time you add a 3rd party device to your car or computer, the possibility of these kinds of issues arise. I'd start with the manufacturer of the device and see if they've heard of this problem before blaming an installer. They may either have a solution or a need to know that they have a design problem.

I have a 05/V8/Nav

My starter was installed at Cadillac dealer with a GM aproved starter...and still I am getting "Service Electrical System" when the car is running on starter, as per dealer " Computer detecting a conflict between Power Train Control Module and Ignition Switch... Computer need to see the key to unlock the stuff"

Once I put the key and turn it .... everything is ok....

On my 08, you have to put the key in to get it in gear.

I didnt pay someone to install it so I could find the problem, But he is looking for a solution to the problem as I write this. Just company's should figure these thing out b4 they sell them to you and let you decide b4 you put in in your car if you want it or not this is the first car I have had trouble with the remote start.

If he sold you the unit, then yes, he's responsible for figuring it out. If you purchased it elsewhere and he installed it, it's your problem. My bet is that your past experiences were with cars much less complex electronically.

Dont know if they were much less complex or not, nor should it even matter to me the bottom line is dont sell/install something that dosen work like it should and tell me to just live with it, and charge me full price while everyone else's works perfect.

well stated. I agree that if you sell something to someone, it should work. No arguing. Just fix it or give me money back!
