SkullV 12-30-07, 11:05 PM in before the move...Cobalts are US rice..its sad...Caddy might blow its rear in a straight line but it would KILL on any road course. thebigjimsho 12-30-07, 11:13 PM Careful! Car and Driver got some killer lap times at VIR in a Cobalt SS... Dennisscars 12-30-07, 11:14 PM but it would KILL on any road course. uhm... no.. well, maybe the silver V's... IBTL SkullV 12-30-07, 11:15 PM Careful! Car and Driver got some killer lap times at VIR in a Cobalt SS... well how do the times compare to the V times at VIR? Flyboy 12-30-07, 11:16 PM Nice Photos...... keithsm2 12-30-07, 11:18 PM Thanks fly... and 54...unless youve done some mods.....im pretty sure you would get your feelings hurt.. thebigjimsho 12-30-07, 11:27 PM well how do the times compare to the V times at VIR?That's what ticks me off. C&D hasn't tested a V at VIR yet but here's the results... 1) Ford GT - 3:00.7 2) Z06 - 3:01.1 3) Viper SRT10 - 3:01.6 4) Lotus Elise - 3:09.2 5) Corvette - 3:09.3 6) Cayman S - 3:09.5 7) BMW M6 - 3:10.0 8) Shelby GT500 - 3:11.0* 9) 350Z Track - 3:12.5 10) Lancer Evo MR - 3:13.5 11) Charger SRT8 - 3:18.2 12) Mazda RX-8 - 3:19.0 13) Cobalt SS - 3:20.6 14) Mustang GT - 3:20.9 15) VW GTI - 3:25.1 16) Civic Si - 3:26.5 17) Mazda MX-5 - 3:29.3 It's only a couple seconds behind a Charger SRT-8 and 7 seconds behind an Evo. That may sound like a lot, but at the 4.2 mile VIR, that's not much. Add a modded SS and a not so good V driver, and that SS may be causing the V fits. I refuse to talk smack about a car that was made for the enthusiast on a budget. Rice? No. JonCR96Z 12-30-07, 11:38 PM I dont know how it would do on a road course (don't really care either), but the SS will get massacred in a straight line. type911 12-30-07, 11:39 PM Your a pretty cool dad. Want another son? JonCR96Z 12-30-07, 11:41 PM For one, you can get delete the wing. I refuse to talk smack about a car that was made for the enthusiast on a budget. Rice? No. I don't talk smack about anything that comes from the General. Though, adding a few non-general aftermarket parts, can sometimes sway me.
