This is my second 99 STS

On the old one, engine shifted around 6500 on WOT

New one will go all the way to 7000.

Did someone remove the rev limiter with a scan tool? Should I have it put back and what is the harm in leaving it as is and letting it shift that high?

I did raise a couple of them to 7000 rpm. :hmm: are you in NY?

If I did not do it then your tach is off:rolleyes:

I"m in North Carolina, but the car is a one owner car from Pennsylvania. Its a white diamond STS if you may recall working on it.

Isn't it harmful to run the engine that high all the time? I do WOT just about daily, I'd prefer to not have to fix things because of this

it should be fine, i mean, the northstar is a HIGH PERFORMANCE INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE.

Do some reading, most it will do is break something that is already on its way out
