My engine light has been on for some time now. I checked all the fluid levels etc. and I only use high quality fuel. I'm guessing that it's just a glitch and that nothing is really wrong. Anyone else have this happen? :ill:

In the states, auto parts stores like Autozone, Advance Auto, Checker, Schuck's, or Kragen will read trouble codes for you. Might suggest you check if your favorite part store can/will do it. Then report back the code(s) and someone on this forum probably can help you.

Happend with mine too...05/V8/AWD...only when the gas tank is half and when i used medium octaine gas instead of premium...
i booked a service call and I am going monday morning to mu local caddillac dealer...and i will let you know.

Nothing to be worry....

my Cadillac dealer added a bottle of cleaning fuel system ...and everything is fine now.

I recomand you to use Slik 50 fuel because is a better quality than GM one...

And of couse in the future put just premium gasoline.

Engine light rarely means serious problems. It's purely an emissions indicator.

It can be triggered by a lot of different things - O2 sensors, dirty gasoline use or even not tightening the gas cap.

Have it checked but don't stress it.

That's what I thought. Cam sensors sense low oil, thus turning on the engine light.
Trust me, I lived that embarrasement..............

My engine light came on after having the dealer detail the car. They steam cleaned the engine and loosened just enough oil on the K&N air filter for the MAF to produce a fault.

my engine light comes ON again after my lovely local Cadillac dealer fix it 3 days ago ...and now ... diffrent story.... the dealer changed my GAS CAP....my Oring was "flat" and was not keeping the preasure in a tank ...???

We will see....

3 days later...the problem is back....

...again and again...Engine light comes ON....and OFF...Random...When I start my Caddy some time is ON...some time is OFF...few times per day...
