View Full Version : Anyone know which parts to grease to stop brake rattle '05 STS?

It took three trips to the dealer last time to stop a very noisy low speed brake rattle from the front brakes so I am attempting to just grease them myself as that is what they said they did to finally quell the loud noise. Sounds like a blown or loose shock from the front as it goes over any kind of road imperfection but stops immediately as you apply the brake, so it absolutely is the brakes as confirmed by the dealer.
My '05 SRX had the exact same problem (same chassis and brakes) and they fixed it as well with grease. So where in the world do I grease the thing, I have never heard of the need to do something like this, even on my cars with over 100k miles. I have already greased the bolts holding the caliper to the mount. All I can think of now is where the caliper mount bolts to the chassis. Any ideas or has anyone heard of this presumably common problem? Thanks.
